In Kanha, the evening light doesn’t just fall on the landscape — it reveals it.

A tiger moving through his kingdom. A deer crossing the open grasslands. Two very different lives, sharing the same golden hour, each outlined by that beautiful rim of fading sunlight.

For a few fleeting moments, every blade of grass glows, every silhouette comes alive, and the wild seems to hold its breath.

This is Kanha at its most magical — raw, quiet and unforgettable.

Rana the legend in the making.

Son of the dominant tiger of Kabini, Cut Lip, this big boy rules the backwaters of Kabini. Already battle hardened with scars to prove it and in the prime of his reign he is sure to leave his mark in the famous back waters of Kabini

Did you know? Elephants don’t just eat palm fruits—they’re built to unlock them.

Palm fruits are packed with natural sugars, healthy fats and nutrients, making them a high-energy snack for these giants. But getting to the reward takes skill. An elephant first tests the fruit with its trunk, then uses the incredible strength of its trunk, tusks or even a carefully placed foot to crack the tough outer shell. Once opened, it deftly picks out the soft, nutrient-rich pulp before swallowing the seeds, which are later dispersed across the forest in dung.

In the process of feeding itself, an elephant also plants tomorrow’s forests—turning every meal into an act of ecosystem restoration. Nature’s powerhouse, and one of its greatest gardeners.

Up close with the unmistakable Red-wattled Lapwing—bold eyes, striking colours, and a personality that is even louder than its famous call. A familiar sight across India, yet every close encounter reveals just how beautifully detailed this bird truly is.

Every house cat has a giant cousin. 🐯
That gentle rub against a tree isn’t affection for the forest—it’s a signature. Tigers have scent glands on their cheeks, forehead, and body, and by rubbing against trees they leave behind a unique chemical message that tells other tigers, “I’ve been here.” Long after the tiger disappears into the jungle, the tree keeps telling its story.

Misunderstood, mocked, and turned into a villain by myth — the African hyena deserves a far better story.

Behind that haunting call and rugged face is one of the savanna’s most intelligent, social, and important predators. Hyenas are not just “laughing scavengers”; they are skilled hunters, powerful clan animals, and nature’s clean-up crew. By hunting the weak and old, consuming carcasses, crushing bones, and recycling what others leave behind, they help keep the ecosystem healthy and balanced.

And that jaw? A force of nature. The spotted hyena has one of the strongest recorded bites among carnivorous mammals — powerful enough to crush bone and unlock nutrients hidden deep within.

Feared by many, understood by few — the hyena is not a symbol of darkness, but of survival, intelligence, and ecological balance. taken in Masai Mara National Reserve by @jungle_pixels
