Meet our guitarist & vocalist: Theo van Niel Jr. 🎸 - @juniorvanniel

Every great band has its own sound and Theo brings a unique flavour to The Blues Hunters.

With his warm voice, thick guitar tone and expressive slide playing, Theo adds depth and character to the band's sound. His roots in country and chicken picking blend naturally with blues and rock, creating a style that perfectly complements Elco Jongkind’s fiery guitar work.

Together, they bring a dynamic guitar sound to The Blues Hunters from subtle grooves to powerful bluesrock moments.

Having fun on a backing track with this new @panucci_guitars '59. Playing is so effortless on these guitars, it's almost cheating. 🤫 taken in The Hague, Netherlands by @juniorvanniel

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to see us at the @jazz.in.voorburg festival. We had an amazing time on stage and it was a pleasure to play for such a great audience.

A special thanks to the @jazz.in.voorburg team for having us and to John Aponno for stepping in on bass and doing an awesome job.

We're already looking forward to the next one!

Theo, ladies and gentlemen.
Tall, blond, European. A real finesse player.
He looked like he stepped out of a time machine right after shooting his album cover.

Great guy. Serious feel. Effortless style.

Ripping on a stunning handmade guitar from Panucci Guitars, straight out of The Netherlands, through a Signature Sound custom head powered by Mercury Magnetics.

When tone, touch, and taste line up like this, you stop scrolling and just listen.

Theo Van Neil is a Dutch guitarist, composer, and educator based in The Hague, known for serious chops and deep versatility across rock, blues, jazz, and fusion. The touch, restraint, and authority are unmistakable.

Had a great time in LA during NAMM week with Angelo and Freija from @panucci_guitars. Catching up with old friends, meeting lots of new people and exploring the beautiful Californian landscape. Always surprised by how much you can fit into a single week ✨
