Hi, I’m Ruby!

Welcome to Juno Naturopathy.

Those close to me know that I am in my third year of Naturopathy (BHSc) - and through this have finally found my passion and the career that sets my heart on fire.

Having struggled with my health over the last 10 years, there have been times I’ve felt overlooked, frustrated and wanting answers. Clinical naturopathic medicine has given me perspective and the tools to feel like myself again, and truly heal.

I have a special interest in hormonal, skin, gut and mental health - I’m beyond excited to provide this little community with actionable tools to support their own health and feel empowered in doing so.

This space is where I’ll share everything to do with health, my journey as a student naturopath, and clinic updates and dates.

Thank you for being here, your support means the world to me ❤️

I spent 10 weeks critically evaluating the current literature on BV, the vaginal microbiome and the role of lactobacillus (so you don’t have to). Here’s what I found 🔎🦠

My DM’s are open for questions or discussions!

3 ingredient, clean, cost effective under-eye patches 🎀

This will make approximately 3 pairs, however if you want eye patches for a week, double the recipe and store in the fridge to have at the ready (puffiness beware).

Ingredients:
🎀 1 tbsp gelatin
🎀 2 tbsp pomegranate juice
🎀 1 tsp raw honey
🎀 1 tbsp water

Method:
1. Heat the water and pomegranate juice on low (this will only take a minute or so)
2. Add the gelatin gradually whilst stirring, it should thicken up
3. Add the honey and whisk
4. Pour into a muffin tin, you don’t want them too thick!
5. Pop in the freezer for about 5 minutes
6. Cut into shape and apply! (press against your skin for a minute whilst it warms up - this will help them stick and stay)
7. Leave for 10-20 minutes and enjoy hydrated, de-puffed under-eyes
8. If you’re feeling peckish by now, you can eat the other pairs (optional xx)

I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ll be offering student naturopathy consultations as part of my clinical placement through the Practise Wellbeing Centre in Brisbane every Saturday for the next 3 months.

This is the exciting final chapter of my degree, where I get to tie together years of study, research and practical training and apply it to real-life cases under the supervision of a team of incredibly experienced naturopaths.

Consultations are available both in person at the Practise Wellbeing Centre in Brisbane and via Telehealth.

❣️ Initial consultations: $20
❣️ Follow-up consultations: $10

Please send me a DM for details on how to book.

Your support during this final stage of my degree truly means the world to me.

Recurrent thrush is often treated as a general “candida overgrowth” but the reality is often far more complex.

While Candida albicans is the most common, there are at least 7-10 different candida species that can contribute to vulvovaginal cadidiasis. Non-albicans species are increasingly being identified in recurrent vaginal infections, many of which may respond less effectively to standard OTC antifungal treatments, particularly in chronic or mixed presentations.

Recurring symptoms can also involve:
→ vaginal microbiome disruption - sometimes even a complete ecosystem collapse
→ antibiotic exposure
→ stress + immune dysregulation
→ hormonal shifts
→ blood sugar dysregulation
→ gut dysfunction
→ partner reinfection dynamics

This is why repeatedly self-treating the symptoms without investigating the underlying drivers can sometimes keep women stuck in the cycle for months (or even years).

As naturopaths, we look at the bigger picture and often utilise functional testing alongside a comprehensive assessment to better understand what may be contributing to recurrence. 🫶🏼🤓🍵

Why do naturopaths love to prescribe liquid herbal formulas?

Honourable mention: character building from the taste
