The Corvette represents the most advanced technology and design of its time. In other words the Corvette is a model that describes the winning attitude. Waving the flag is the traditional act of celebrating a milestone, outstanding achievement and freedom. It is also shown on the Corvette logo. The big idea of the new Corvette [Σ] is: “WAVING FLAG.”
The form derived from the motion of waving flags is naturally very dynamic. Incorporating natural dynamism in the front view is more difficult compared to any other view because of symmetry. Slight asymmetry will be introduced using the Corvette logo in the front mask. This enhances the natural look and makes the vehicle distinguishable in dark without having to light-up the logo.

Chevrolet Corvette started as a front engine American sports car and this architecture continued until the 7th generation. The current model and all the great looking concepts that are being showcased by GM have mid-ship sports car proportions. Corvette [Σ] is my personal project to show what I envision the Corvette to look like if it was still a front engine sports car. Corvette [Σ] is the sum [sigma] of C1 to C7.

Hyundai has been putting lots of effort into the XRT division and Genesis introduced the off-roader concept X Skorpio earlier this year. It would be intresting to see Hyundai making a SSV for full off-road recreational experience. Their current design language is perfectly suited for the off-road environment. I was very impressed with the brand new Avante [Elantra] design; amazing volume for such a small car segment.

In 2020 I participated in the APMA Project Arrow initiative, contributing to the concept design of Canada's first electric SUV alongside three Carleton University designers: Mina, Kaj, and Matthew. Our exterior design concept drew inspiration from the powerful stance of a polar bear and the rugged topography of the Canadian Shield. The APMA, in collaboration with the University of Windsor, subsequently developed full-scale, functional prototype based on this vision. This project provided an exceptional platform for Canadian design and engineering students to showcase Canada's potential.
While Canada lacks a domestic automotive OEM, the nation consistently produces world-class design talent, exemplified by industry leaders like Karim Habib, Jason Battersby, and Ralph Gilles.

Howerver, I think it would be interesting to draw inspiration from a horse bridle for the front design details to communicate that a driver is in control. A horse bridle is a mutil-component strap that goes on the face of the horse; it is used to guide, control, and communicate with a horse.
There is just a little over half of 2026 [the year of the red horse] left; make sure you take good control and enjoy the rest of the year.

2026 is the year of the red horse and the red horse of the automotive industry has taken the spotlight last week with the latest vehicle, Luce.
The design has generated mixed reviews and much disappointment among enthusiasts. In my view, the anesthetic would be highly suited for a brand such as Honda or Nissan. However, when evaluated against Ferrari's historic design language, the execution raises some questions. While I am not an expert, if the vehicle's footprint [specifically the four-door EV proportion] was a fixed constraint, a different design direction might have yielded a stronger brand identity. For instance, drawing inspiration from the iconic F40 blended with the modern Purosangue, while referring to elements like NACA ducts, could have better emphasized aerodynamic efficiency and the classic Ferrari heritage [these are just my stupid ideas].
Occasionally, organizations place implicit trust in big namr and rely on famous saying like "people do not know what they want" to justify critical feedback. Companies like Ferrari undoubtedly employ world class talents capable of producing exceptional designs. The automotive industry is rarely short on creative talents; rather, the challenge often lies in leadership. Effective leaders excel at aligning the right talent with the right project, remain receptive to diverse perspectives, and take full accountability for strategic outcomes.
Criticism is easy to offer, but real progress requires more than just complaints. To foster positive, long term change in the industry, the most impactful path forward is to study design rigorously, practice it continuously, and cultivate strong leadership qualities.
