Since it’s almost time, might as well appreciate the. Things that happened in my life, Jesse Garcia my step father appeared in my life when I was 9 years old, he was a older gentleman and decided to be the next role model for me to follow, and he taught me the importance of being a man and to be a leader when people need it, he also taught me things a son would learn from a father within 7 years of living with me and my mother, he also got me to learn about the world and reality in general and the bible, he was extremely religious and he used discipline me and make me read the bible as a way of to learn about my mistakes, that type of punishment payed off ig, but he was full of wisdom and he told me to always listen to elders because of how much wisdom they carry, during the last 3 years he sat me down and told me” what would you do if I passed away any-day now” that thought process was tough to hear and as young as I was I ignored it but as I got older now I had an answer, but it’s too late now. May of my sophomore year he had a stroke and had to be taken to the hospital for screenings, they found out he had stage 3 liver cancer and he didn’t have long, so they took him to his hometown of San Antonio to say goodbye to his biological family, I wasn’t invited somehow and me and my mother were furious about that, and me and my mother weren’t invited to the funeral either, straight bs, after that I went through the toughest battle of my life which is going through the stages of grief, my junior year was horrible for my mental health, I would cry last year if I even thought about my stepfather, but with help of my friends, teammates, and my mother I would probably won’t be here today, even with my step father gone financial support was non existent, I had to get a job to help ends meet, but it wasn’t enough, they eventually repossessed the car and once that was done I really didn’t have a solution for anything, so I put all of my problems away and let god take over, it worked. Grades were definitely a problem because of my mental health, but I fixed it and got accepted into many colleges, one word to describe this half is redemption by @just_joe07
