Today, I celebrate more than just another year of life; I celebrate God’s faithfulness, the strength He has built in me, the battles He has helped me overcome, and the beautiful woman I am becoming.

As I step into this new chapter, I do so with a heart full of gratitude, a spirit filled with hope, and a faith that refuses to give up. I am not where I want to be yet, but I am certainly not where I used to be. I honour my journey, embrace my growth, and look forward to all that God has prepared for me.

May my voice carry impact, my work speak excellence, and my life become a testimony of what God can do with a willing heart.

I am stepping into rooms I once prayed about, fulfilling dreams I once whispered in secret, and becoming everything God created me to be. No fear, no comparison, no unnecessary pressure—just grace, growth, excellence, and divine direction.

I am Oluwafunke OB Israel, and my story is still being written by God. The best chapters are not behind me; by His grace, they are ahead of me!

Cheers to a new age, a deeper walk with God, greater accomplishments, beautiful surprises, and a life that glorifies Him.

The Journey that Did not Look Like the Dream

I hardly ever find myself pressured by other people’s success. It’s their journey; I have mine.

Some of the things I celebrate today took a long time to happen. There were moments I genuinely wondered if they ever would. But I trusted the process. I simply kept doing whatever my hands found to do—and I did it with all my heart.

Before broadcasting became such a significant part of my story,
I was an English instructor for three years.
I worked as a contract staff at a commercial bank.

I ran a small fabric business and a millinery business.

I understudied a fashion designer, worked on designs for some of my own clients

Designed CVs for friends, and created content for people, sometimes for little or no pay.

I didn't see those seasons as something to endure. I found life in them. I learnt from them. I showed up. I picked up skills, built relationships, discovered different parts of myself and kept moving.

Then came broadcasting—the opportunity that, in many ways, looked like the dream job I had always imagined.

Ironically, by the time it came, I was already so invested in other things that I wasn't even thinking of it as a ā€œdream jobā€ anymore. But I knew better than to turn down an opportunity I had once hoped for. In fact, I had almost lost touch with the dream

7 years down the lane, looking back, I am not just grateful that I gave it a shot. I am genuinely astonished by the attention, the rooms, the conversations, the privilege and the opportunities this journey has brought my way.
And there is still so much more to come.

I am still learning. Still growing. Still becoming.
So, no pressure!

I am simply a girl loving the journey, trusting the process and believing deeply in God's timing.

My story is still unfolding. And I'm excited about every chapter ahead. šŸ¤

The lesson is simple ; Stay focused, keep showing up, and trust the process. You are not behind—you are becoming

Sometimes, You Just Need to Admit You’re Slacking

Wednesday was my day off. Apart from doing laundry, I did absolutely nada! šŸ˜‚

I just roamed around my space like someone who had no other business to attend to. No deadlines to chase, no urgent task waiting for me… yet somehow, there were things I could have done.

The truth is, I’ve been dragging the process. Procrastinating. And yes, the guilt eventually caught up with me. Pity me, huh? šŸ˜‚

But that guilt did something good. In the early hours of today, I did something I haven’t done in a while — I chose to hold myself accountable.

Sometimes, we don’t need another motivational speech. We just need to be honest with ourselves, admit where we’ve been slacking, and get back to work.

So, here I am… no excuses. Just accountability, one step at a time. ā¤ļø

And yes, Wednesday was still a good day. Sometimes, doing nada is also a form of rest.

On becoming the interns' intern

One of the biggest lessons I've learned in the media space is that mentorship isn't always a one-way relationship. We often assume that because we're the experienced ones, we're the only ones doing the teaching. But over the years, I've discovered that some of my greatest learning moments have come from the very interns I was assigned to mentor.

When I first started supervising interns, my focus was simple: teach them the basics, help them avoid the mistakes I made, and prepare them for life in the newsroom. But somewhere along the line, the tables started turning. They introduced me to new ways of creating content, better digital tools, and fresh ideas that I probably wouldn't have explored on my own. Without even realizing it, I had become a student in my own mentoring journey.

That experience taught me something I'll never forget: experience gives you wisdom, but it should not take away your curiosity. The media industry evolves every day, and no matter how many years you've spent behind the microphone, in the newsroom, or managing people, there's always something new to learn. Sometimes, the person teaching you is young enough to call you "boss."

Looking back, I don't think mentorship is about who knows more. It's about who is willing to learn. I've never felt less of a mentor because I learned from an intern. If anything, it made me a better leader, a better broadcaster, and a better professional. It reminded me that humility is one of the greatest strengths anyone can have in this industry.

So these days, whenever I'm assigned an intern, I don't just think about what I'll teach them. I also wonder what they'll teach me. Because the truth is, the best mentoring relationships are the ones where everyone leaves the experience knowing more than they did when it began.

It's A NEW BEGINNING

After weeks of political campaigns, tension, expectations and a keenly contested governorship election, on Saturday August 15 Oṣun has spoken. The votes have been cast, the mandate delivered, and now it is time to move beyond politics and return to the peace and everyday life that unite us.

Victory at the Oṣun governorship polls is a victory for us all. Let's continue to build our dear state together.

Congratulations to Governor Ademola Adeleke, and to the good people of Oṣun State who stood by their mandate, despite the cost and challenges along the way.

At the end of every election, we must remember that we are first and foremost one people. Let peace, unity and the progress of Oṣun remain our priority.

Congratulations, Oṣun

TALK YOUR WAY INTO THE ROOMS THAT MATTER

The world is being shaped every day through meaningful conversations that are held in rooms, you lack the ...........

Every great idea begins with a conversation. Every lasting relationship is strengthened by one. Every meaningful transformation is often sparked by an honest exchange of thoughts, perspectives, and experiences.
Conversation has become one of life's greatest pleasures. It is through meaningful conversations that nations shape policies, organizations refine their vision and align with best practices,

Too many people underestimate the power of meaningful dialogue. They assume that conversations are just casual exchanges, when in reality they are where ideas are refined, relationships are built, opportunities are discovered, and influence is earned. The people who consistently contribute thoughtful ideas are often the ones invited into rooms where important decisions are made.

Don't simply observe from the sidelines. Find your voice, contribute with wisdom, and be part of the discussions that influence the future. The conversation you join today could be the one that changes your life—and perhaps even the lives of many others.
You never know which discussion will introduce you to a life-changing idea, a valuable relationship, or the next step in your journey.

Talk your way into rooms that matter ! Walk into them PREPARED

One last thing do it with a smart outfit and a good pair of shoes šŸ‘Ÿ
