A little AI tale this evening.

Picture 1: My Winter Cottages cushion, designed by me and sold as a pattern, on @lovecraftscom for others to make.
Picture 2: An almost exact replica of my design being sold as a pattern on Etsy by someone who has not designed it or made it, but are claiming it as their own.

Yesterday I came across a seller on Etsy who was adamant that they had not in any way copied or reproduced my design and that the two cushions were entirely different 🤔
Many emails followed, backwards and forwards, with the seller refusing to accept that the design that originally came from my head was miraculously the same as theirs.
They even asked me to send them a copy of my written pattern so they could compare it - I politely explained that I felt the photo was more than enough proof.

When challenged in the use of AI things suddenly took a slightly different path with a little bit of backing down.
Etsy has a policy that things involving AI may be sold on their ‘craft’ website but it must be clearly stated that it is AI generated.
Not a mention of this anywhere in their description. . Finally, by the evening, they agreed to remove the pattern from their sellers page, a page, I hasten to add, that was full of many, many AI generated pictures of crochet designs that I assume do not belong to them.

How to crochet the very easiest of Pumpkin Garlands!
Any weight yarn will work, just use the right size hook to yarn, then, in UK terms:
🎃 Make a magic ring
🎃Work 1 dc in to the ring
🎃 Work 8 tr in to the ring
🎃 Work 1 sl st in to the ring
🎃Finish off orange yarn
🎃 Thread some green yarn through the centre
🎃 Work a short chain in the green
🎃 Sew in any ends
🎃 Make several more and string them up!

🎃 Hang here, there and everywhere !
