✨Firewild by Milena McKay✨ This wonderful and immersive world of witches and spells and mystery that @reallymckay crafted together so beautifully in Book 1 of the Crow’s Coven series continues full steam ahead in Book 2, Firewild. Yes, the title is an obvious nod to Deryn’s craft but it also speaks volumes to the relationship between Deryn and Paloma. I knew McKay was bringing the heat with this one, I just didn’t expect it to start so early in the book - I was NOT disappointed. From the passion between to Deryn and Paloma to the (fire)power that Deryn wields in her hands, the heat continued throughout to the end. While it’s obvious that their chemistry is undeniable, the physicality of their relationship didn’t overshadow the emotional depth of their connection and PHEW. Such a joy to be a part of that journey! They sort of fell into the fake dating trope and it was so fun to witness them dance around their (obvious) feelings for each other. Idk, I just love watching idiots fall in love with each other. It never gets old! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And the Crowhart family dynamics. Oh, the Crowhart family dynamics! The banter, the sibling rivalry, the love that these women have for each other….all of that was so well established in the first book and in this second one….it compounded into something even more real and tangible. There’s something so enthralling and captivating about witches and the bonds they create, whether by blood or trauma or grief, and McKay has a real talent for creating all of that in such a heartfelt and engaging way. Witches, furry sidekicks, puns, spice (THE SPICE!), the continued mystery of whodunnit - Firewild was such a rewarding read for me and I can’t wait for book 3! I received a gifted copy from the author (thank you so much!) and am voluntarily leaving a review. by @justanothersapphicreader
📚📚📚 Thought No. 1: What a gorgeous special edish! Thought No. 2: Was this accidentally sent to me? I have no recollection of ever buying this 🧐 Thought No. 3: Let me check my receipts (bc yes I have a highly organized inbox and keep everything) Friends - this is a perfect example of that book math equation where you make a special edition purchase, completely forget about it (bc it was purchased over a year ago), and then blissfully add that gorgeous “free” special edition to your shelf when it mysteriously ends up in your mailbox! 💁🏻‍♀️ (From The Pretty Little Words Romance Book Box) #sapphicbooks #bookstagram #books #sapphicbookstagram #specialeditionbooks by @justanothersapphicreader

✨CASS CON 2026✨ I’m so thankful for all the joy I felt this past weekend! Enjoying city life for a couple of days, seeing friendly faces again, meeting new people, laughing until my face hurt — what a time to be alive! A book and some ramen…can’t really beat this combination! #sapphicbooks #solodining #happyfriday by @justanothersapphicreader
✨Anywhere but Here by Rian Birch✨ As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in the Tradie Lady series, I had high hopes for this third installment and I was not disappointed! There is so much to love about this book - the beautiful backdrop of Australia, the mini adventures Brooke and JJ went on along the way, the comedic moments (hello, goats!), THE SPICE, and the slow progression between these two who could not be more different (they went from strangers to idiots [affectionate] REALLY quick and it was so fun to witness!) But my favorite thing about this book was the way Birch used JJ’s occupation as a painter to really drive the point home that you can paint in the lines all day long and do everything in your power to keep things orderly and crisp and stay within those lines but…will that make you happy? And keep you happy? Sometimes you have to let go and let the paint run and mix and get dirty and make a crazy abstract painting as you’re rolling around with the person you’re falling in love with. Love that! Such a fun ride. Can’t wait for the next book from @rianbirch! Many thanks to Rian for the advanced copy! 🫶🏼 #arcreview #sapphicbooks #wlwbooks #readqueerallyear by @justanothersapphicreader
✨Codename Lotus by Yiliana Ferran✨ An absolute banger of a debut! I loved so much about this book, I’m not sure where to start. The seemingly aloof, sharp, and distant ice queen…her most perfect counterpart in the form of an open and vulnerable and sunshiny cinnamon roll…(honestly, y’all - watching Naomi’s ice melt was so fun - she had no idea what the heck was going on and I was in a continuous state of giggling and kicking my feet)…the various locations (Geneva, Mumbai) I was whisked away to (this book is so culturally immersive that I swear my other senses kicked in)…the forced proximity that was thrust upon them (no seriously, the twists and turns in this book are chef’s kiss)…the second chance vibes (she is her brother’s best friend 👀)…the heartfelt spice (their first time was 🔥 HOT)…the unexpected joy that was given to both of these characters (more twists and turns) even though they both had gone through more than their fair share of trauma (check the trigger warnings - even though Saanya is our strong cinnamon roll, she was emotionally and psychologically abused by her previous partner and plays an important part of her journey…please read with care)… I started this book thinking it was going to go in one particular direction but I could barely hang on with the suspense and surprises that kept those pages turning and me on the edge of my seat. Seriously - this book has checked off all the boxes I want out of a sapphic romance (including chapter titles! Can’t forget to mention those!) Like I said - a stunner of a debut, one you should most definitely check out! Many thanks to @yilianaferran for this gifted advanced copy. 🥰 #sapphicromance #arcreview #wlwbooks #sapphicfiction #readqueerallyear by @justanothersapphicreader
