There was a time when my closet was almost entirely black.

Not because it was my favorite color…
Because I thought it made me disappear.

At my heaviest (216lbs+), I spent so much energy trying to hide my body. I avoided bright colors, bold prints, and anything that might bring attention to me.

Today, the compliments aren’t really about the colorful dresses.

They’re about confidence.

The biggest transformation wasn’t the weight I lost…it was the freedom I gained. The freedom to wear the colors I used to convince myself “weren’t for me.”

If you’ve ever hidden behind oversized clothes or only reached for black because you didn’t feel worthy of being seen…

I hope you know that one day, you’ll wear whatever makes you feel alive. ❤️

Come to Pilates with me 🎀🔥 A little energy boost, some Sweet Sweat, and straight into getting humbled by a 15 lb Bala Bar… or as my instructor likes to call it, “el palo” 😭😂

Definitely one of the most challenging pieces of equipment for me, but somehow also my FAVORITE. The shaking, the burning, the complaining… I love every second of it. Well, almost. 🥵💪🏼

The way I thought she was joking when she said 3 MINUTES 😂
This is your reminder that even after years of working out, some exercises will STILL humble you. 😭

Was it pretty? Absolutely not. Did I struggle? Every second. But we got through it. Pilates is not for the weak. 😂🤍

Sometimes I look at old videos of myself and wish I could give that girl a hug. 🥹🤍

I had no idea how much my life would change when I decided to start taking care of myself.

And now, over 7 years later, here I am at 125 pounds.

I wish I could say it was easy or that I’ve been consistent every single day, but that wouldn’t be the truth.

There have been seasons where I was so focused and motivated, and others where life got overwhelming and my fitness journey took a back seat. I’ve gained weight, lost weight, changed my routines, tried new things, and had to find my way back more times than I can count.

And somewhere along the way, I stopped looking at fitness as something I had to do to lose weight and started seeing it as something I genuinely love doing for myself.

I think about that girl in 2019 a lot. She was a wife, a mom, working, trying to juggle everything, and somewhere in the middle of it all, she decided she wanted to make a change for herself.

I’m so glad she did.

Because this journey has given me so much more than a smaller body. It’s given me confidence, strength, discipline, friendships, and a part of myself I didn’t even know was missing.

And even after all these years, I’m still figuring things out. I’m still learning, still growing, and still showing up.

I’m not proud of myself just because I lost 91 pounds. I’m proud because I never completely gave up on myself. 🤍

And if you’re watching this thinking you’ve waited too long to start, I hope you know that 7 years ago, I was just a girl deciding to give it a try, too. 🫶🏼

Just because someone looks happy doesn’t mean they’re not fighting battles you know nothing about. 🤍

I’ve been a little quieter on here lately. Not because I don’t have anything to share, but because life has been heavy in ways I haven’t been ready to talk about.

This season has been one of the hardest, but also one of the most eye-opening.

I’ve learned that you can be surrounded by so many people and still feel incredibly alone. That people you once considered friends can become strangers. And that sometimes the people you expect to show up for you don’t.

I’ve also learned how easily people can judge your character, question your intentions, or assume they know who you are without knowing what you’re going through. And sometimes, that judgment comes from people you thought knew your heart.

I’ve never been one to share every difficult moment. I’ve always wanted this space to be positive and uplifting. But I’m learning that being positive doesn’t mean life is always good, and being strong doesn’t mean you aren’t struggling.

Some days, showing up for myself means getting up, moving my body, and finding a little peace in the middle of everything I can’t control.

Fitness has always been more than physical for me. It’s my outlet, my therapy, and sometimes the only place I can quiet my mind.

I’m sharing this because I know I’m not the only one silently going through something.

Check on your strong friends. The ones who always seem happy. The ones who have gone quiet.

And please, be kind. You truly never know what someone is carrying.

This season is teaching me a lot about friendships, life, and myself. And although it’s been painful, I’m choosing to grow through it.

If you’re going through a hard season too, you’re not alone. 🤍
