Posture, control, flow, energy. These are the things I realized during @re.turn_berlin that catch my attention. These qualities tell me unconsciously something about skater, before I even register what they’re doing or what line they’re taking. And the longer I watch, the more layers show up. Grace. Creativity. Strength. Ruthlessness. Trust. Endurance. Focus. Every skater carries their own combination of these things, and no two combinations look the same…if that makes any sense!?
What I find most fascinating is how differently each of them sees a space. Same skatepark, same flat ground, but completely different approaches. Everyone brings their own limitations, their own skillset, their own history with movement or maybe fear to the session. And out of that comes something unique. The way they read an obstacle, approach them, use or completely ignore them and find something nobody else ever noticed. I really love that when so many people come together and skate. The diversity is the beauty 🌸 taken in Tempelhofer Feld by @justaskarc
