Birthday Blur..

What an absolute cracker of a day celebrating 10 years with the Watts River crew! They pulled out all the stops for the milestone.

Sensational beers flowing, epic woodfired pizza, live music cranking, and plenty to keep the kids entertained. Absolutely loved being treated like a king all afternoon from the world's most friendly staff.

Huge thanks for having us down to toast a decade of great brewing. Here’s to the next 10!

Did you miss me?

Rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated.
Anyway.. I’m back, bitches. Sound ON for this one.

I dropped into Stomping Ground over at Morris Moor to film a this little clip today.
It felt like a great place to shout out from and mark the occasion with a few fresh pints in hand.
I’m kicking off my social return with some fun and solid main character energy, because it's time for another round and I've got plenty of proper craft beers lined up.
I've got Australian beers, local beers and even a few beers you've never heard of from overseas.

To celebrate I've made a fun Playlist for you to join in and mess with as you please.

Scan the code, hit play, drop a comment, and let’s catch up.

TL;DR? I’m back. The audio is fun. Drink good beer.

A quietly beating heart

Tucked away in Clifton Hill, Local Brewing has the kind of community vibe that makes you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. The space feels like a laid-back coffee shop where people swing by for a casual chat or to catch up over a pint. It's welcoming, unpretentious and clearly designed for locals to gather and connect.

I dove into the Double IPA which had just been freshly kegged. It poured beautifully with that classic West Coast look and a clean finish. Crisp and very approachable, it was easy to enjoy even if you're not usually into bigger beers. I just found myself wanting a bit more of that punchy West Coast character, but it was still a solid and well-balanced pour.

The surprise highlight was the bagels. Fresh, flavourful and the perfect bite to enjoy with a cold beer. We tried a few different options and each one hit the mark. Check out the photos for a closer look at what we ordered.

Cold hands, warm sip.

I always come back to @wildah.au Ginger Beer, but it hits differently in the snow.

The natural ginger heat cuts is perfect for finishing a day on the Victorian snowy x-country ski trails.
Warming, punchy and never too sweet.
I love that it’s made with real ingredients.

It’s clean and crisp, but still has that comforting kick that makes it perfect after a long walk or just sitting by the window watching the snow fall.

Definitely a great winter beverage, will you have yours on ice too?

Sinful worship..

Hop Deity by Ocean Reach is a sacrament for the hop-obsessed, I was summoned into a dank, bitter abyss with every sip.
The intense piney bite and deep, resinous flavors invoked the power of forgotten demons, as if I was pledging my soul to a brew that’s both bold and unforgiving.
A true offering to the dark gods of craft beer, where worship is bitter, and the consequences are deliciously sinful.

Mountains of yum

As many of us have, I've enjoyed a chat with Ross from @bacchus_brewing a few times about cheekily walking the line when it comes to naming beer, whether it's to do with a mythical deep sea monster or a delicious chocolate nougat triangle, Ross and his team have definitely been in hot water but they always work it out and krak(en) on.

Today's photo is of a superb Barley Wine, Toblerale now known as Torrone (see: Cease and disist)
It's a rich and decadent American Barleywine with flavors of smooth milk chocolate, honey, and almond nougat, obviously reminiscent of a certain chocolate bar. Its full-bodied sweetness is balanced by a warming, boozy finish, making it a perfect indulgence for us dessert lovers.

Clear skies ahead

Took a sexy model out for a photo shoot and to make a statement about the Status Quo.
Busy time of the year means Days Go By and I've neglected my #Insta lately so here's a proof #reel to keep your mouth damp.
