POSTS STORIES REELS

This one has been sitting in my drafts for awhile honestly 😂

These are still some of our tried and true best hits on the bookshelf. If I’m being honest we haven’t been reading a ton of this shelf lately because we’ve been making a point to go to our local library every week or so and checking out new books.

I’m going to be doing a post of my toddlers favorite books soon, so follow along for that if you want recommendations geared for younger readers.

Reminder to yourself though: all reading is developing literacy skills. I don’t care if you’re reading Disney princess books or classics like the little prince. You are bonding and teaching word recognition, speech patterns, phonetic awareness etc. Never undervalue the work you are doing by picking up a book and reading to your children!!

In our house real food is a top priority

My husband loves to cook and it’s truly a family affair. He’s showing us all how to make delicious nutritious meals. Both of our children love being involved in the processes of preparing, cooking and especially tasting.

If this sounds like something you would like to shift to in your own house but are struggling on where to start here are a few tips

1) start small: even having your children do something as simple as helping you wash produce or measure seasonings, grains etc can peak their interest to become more involved .

2) involvement no matter how small can also help them be curious to try things they otherwise would normally not. Young children thrive off of any autonomy they feel they have. So not only are you giving them this autonomy by including them in making family meals but also teaching them invaluable life skills.

3) talk about foods at meal times. Simple statements like “broth helps keep our belly’s happy” or “eggs help us grow big and strong” help them to understand the “why” in eating slow and intentinal.

4) that being said try not to demonize any food/food group. We can shift the focus to “how does that make your body feel when you eat that?” if answers are things like “my belly hurts” “I feel itchy” etc try to offer another alternative in the future. Example “maybe if we try eating some protein ( chicken, cheese, egg….) with fruit next time our belly might feel better”
These are just a few things that have worked well for us. Happy eating to you all 💗🌶️🥦🧅🍠🍳🥗🍗🥩🍣🍜

This where you can find me 80% of the day for the last 4 years and counting

Raising kids that don’t watch tv (at least on a regular basis, we do watch movies a few times a month as a treat) means you’re the constant source of entertainment, meaning we’re reading the same book 10x in a row 🫠😂

It’s truly such a blessing already seeing the fruits of instilling a love for reading in both my children. My son at 17.5 months can fill in words to stories like little blue truck. He calls “The Mitten” by Jan Brett Achooo because of the bear sneezing 🥰😂. My 4.5 year old is reading us full picture books. Last night she read me some of the beginning of the bible.

It’s truly crazy to me that simply taking the time to read, narrate your day and just talk to your children can have such profound effects on their ability to read, talk and understand language themselves.

Wake up with us! ☕️☀️🌧️
This morning was a little different, my toddler actually slept in till 6, he’s been getting up at 5-5:30 😬🫠
Fridays are a little more relaxed too because my four year old is with her dad for the weekend and we’re not getting ready for school or dance class.

Yes, dance content will be woven in still but this is 90% of my life and it would be inauthentic for me not to show that.

I feel like we all hear “the internet is just a highlight reel” thrown around.

It’s true, most people share, the perfected, curated, and refined versions of themselves.

But in that I think we loose something so valuable. The imperfections of being human. The challenges of starting a new journey. The obstacles faced when we have to do the slow tedious work of becoming better.

It doesn’t look like perfection. It looks like real people trying to push themselves into growth.

I’m showing up on here to show you the journey. I may have a ways to go. I may stumble and fall but I won’t give up on what makes me happy. What joy I’ve found once again for myself.

A chaotic conditioning while my toddler attempted to nap 😂😂

Had a blast watching @mackenziedaviz ballet conditioning video. I’ve been following her on IG for awhile now and she is so talented 🥰🩰✨

Remember this is just the beginning of the journey… can’t wait to see where it takes me! Hope you’ll come along for the ride 🙏🏻🫶🏻

going back to ballet as a mom has given me a new sense of determination and also acceptance that I never experienced before.

I want to work as hard as I can with the little time I have currently but I’m also just enjoying the process and sitting in gratitude that my body is able to move this way!

I still need to secure the ribbons to my new @blochdanceusa pointe shoes( as you can see) There’s a reason for the ribbon 😂🩰

If anyone is searching for a great ballet teacher I know a guy, he doesn’t have a ton of experience but he does have great taste and give harsh critique 😂

Anyways I need a ballet barre for home and probably some new shoes too lol

So happy to be back doing what I loved as a child and still love 🥰🩰💗

Reminder: It’s never too late to get back into the things that bring you joy ✨

Also I’m not sure what happened to my audio and why the voiceover cuts out at parts but bare with me… this is my first attempt and we will get it right next time 😂
