🔥 MDS Legendary - Stage 6: The Final Battle & The Finish Line 🏁
🗓 Stage 6 (FINISH!): 23.3km
🌪 Conditions: Brutal dunes, freezing rain, & severe sandstorms

Woke up at 5:30 AM for the shortest, yet technically hardest, terrain of the race. Before the start, a poetic speech honoring our week of tears and sweat left me crying. Sent off by Ruejen rocking out to AC/DC’s "Highway to Hell," we stepped up to the starting line with fierce determination.

I was starving by 5km but pushed through the endless dunes. Shared a quick photo-op with Mark against a backdrop of moving camels, and watched a bleeding Joffrey sprint past me, giving it absolutely everything he had left for the finale.

At 18km, all hell broke loose. A massive sandstorm and freezing rain hit us. Sand whipped my exposed skin like needles, and I was shivering uncontrollably. If it were 5km longer, I would have risked hypothermia. But at 22.5km, the finish line finally appeared. I pulled out my Taegeukgi 🇰🇷 (Korean flag) signed by my friends and crossed the line. When the photographer told me, "Congratulations! You are a legend," I broke down in tears.

The finish zone was an emotional whirlwind. Ruejen was crying on the phone with his family, and I sent my overwhelming joy through the Emotion Box. After a celebratory beer from Nick (which hit me instantly!) and a surprise afternoon espresso, we bused back to Ouarzazate. Scrubbed endless desert sand out of my ears and celebrated with an epic hotel buffet—camel meat included!

May this journey guide me closer to my true self. I hope it becomes an enduring force within me—a quiet resilience that refuses to surrender my dreams, no matter the storms I face.

And above all, I hope it shapes me into someone who is endlessly grateful for the love of family, the bond of friends, and the beautiful humanity that surrounds us.

5개월간의 대회 준비는 결코 쉽지 않았다.
체력적으로, 또한 정신적으로.
인도에서 한국으로 귀국한지 어느덧 6개월, 남들은 뛰는 데 나만 제자리걸음인 것 같은 기분이 들었다. 정신적으로 가장 취약한 시기가 언제였냐고 묻는다면, 바로 이 기간일 것이다.

모로코 사막에서 돌아온지 얼마 안되어, 나는 다음 도전을 준비했다.
@balancerunning 친구들과 함께하는 @saddles100 , 살면서 단 한번도 한번에 100마일을 달린 적 없었기에, 두려움이 엄습했다. 주변 사람들 대부분은 주말에 홀로 산에서 시간을 보내는 나를 이해하지 못했다.
하지만 나 스스로 패배감에 사로잡힌 사람으로 만들기 싫었다. 이 여행을 끝내고 싶지 않았다.

2년전 떠난 나를 위해 지구 반대편에서 나의 도전을 응원해준 친구들, 새로 사귄 열정적인 영혼들, 놀랄만큼 헌신적인 크루들과 있는 힘을 다해 이곳 애리조나 프레스콧의 산길을 거침없이 내달렸던 위대한 모든 주자들까지. 모두 아름다웠고, 나에게 삶에 대한 의지에 있어 큰 용기와 영감을 주었다.

100마일을 완주했다. 수많은 친구들의 격려와 응원 덕택에. 지구 어디에 있든, 세계 한 구석에선 누군가가 나를 응원하고 있음을 잊지 않는 사람이고 싶다.

I received the 360VENT running shorts from @kaleg.official. The inner liner is practical and effectively prevents chafing on the trails.

I was also provided with a free entry to the @mujutrail.korea race on October 25th. The course is 28km with 2,313m of elevation gain. I will be wearing the shorts to test them on this challenging route.
