#AllanFeliz was a beloved father, brother, son and friend - but his life was cruelly cut short when NYPD Lt. Jonathan Rivera tased, beat, shot, and killed him during an unjust traffic stop in 2019.

After years of intentional delays, the NYPD discipline judge found Rivera guilty of excessive force and assault and recommended he be fired for killing Allan — but @NYPDPC Jessica Tisch unjustifiably let Rivera keep his job. SHAME!

The Feliz family is bravely continuing the fight by suing Commish Tisch, and they need your support to make sure Rivera is finally fired & off our streets!

Since killing Allan, Rivera was promoted to Lieutenant, committed another fireable offense, and had racked up 40 misconduct complaints and 7 lawsuits costing taxpayers at least $115K – but he is still patrolling the streets, armed and dangerous 😡 it’s past time to #FireJonathanRivera!!

📢 Stand with the Feliz family in court as they sue @NYPDPC to make sure repeat offender Rivera is finally fired!

BREAKING: 20 NYS + NYC elected officials send letter to @NYCMayor Mamdani and @NYPDPC Tisch, urging them to #FireJonathanRivera!

ICYMI, the CCRB recently offered Rivera a bogus plea deal despite his long history of misconduct, including shooting an unarmed teen 16x, killing unarmed father #AllanFeliz, and racking up 40 misconduct allegations and 7 lawsuits 😡

In the words of @cndelarosa, “After over half a decade of tireless advocacy from the Feliz family, it is time to turn the page. This plea deal does not meet the devastation that this family has faced and the trust lost in our communities. We must show New Yorkers that accountability and transparency matters, and the demand has been clear — Lieutenant Rivera must be fired.”

TAKE ACTION: email Mayor Mamdani & Commissioner Tisch NOW to demand they reject the plea deal and finally #FireJonathanRivera! bit.ly/fire-lt-rivera (link in bio) by @justiceforallan

It’s been 7 years of waiting for Lt. Jonathan Rivera to be held accountable for killing Allan Feliz during a traffic stop.

We cannot stand by and allow the NYPD to protect officers who kill innocent New Yorkers. That’s why I joined @justicecommittee to demand that @nycmayor and @nypdpc fire Rivera once and for all. by @justiceforallan

Police Commissioner Tisch indefensibly refused to #FireJonathanRivera for killing #AllanFeliz – but he’s continued to hurt NYers, racking up 40 misconduct complaints & 7 lawsuits costing taxpayers at least $115K ‼️

Now, even @CCRB_NYC is protecting Rivera by offering a plea deal for a recent unlawful summons 😡 UNACCEPTABLE!

Today in @nyamnews: “This is just an officer that [continues] harmful practices [that] are going to put all New Yorkers at risk,” said Samy Feliz, the brother of #AllanFeliz. “As a family who’s been vocal about removing this officer from the police force, we now feel like either Commissioner Tisch or Mayor Mamdani have to do what’s right and remove officer Rivera.”

ICYMI NYPD Lt. Rivera shot an unarmed teen 16 times, brutally murdered unarmed father #AllanFeliz, racked up 40 misconduct complaints and 7 lawsuits costing taxpayers at least $115K – but he is still patrolling the streets, armed and dangerous. Shame!

Why are @NYPDPC @NYCMayor and even @CCRB_NYC protecting a serially abusive cop?! ❌

NYPD Lt. Rivera shot an unarmed teen 16 times, brutally murdered unarmed father #AllanFeliz, racked up 40 misconduct complaints and 7 lawsuits costing taxpayers at least $115K – but he is still patrolling the streets, armed and dangerous.

The CCRB recently offered Rivera a bogus plea deal for a recent misconduct case – just 20 docked vacation days for what was supposed to be a fireable offense 😡

This isn’t the first time Rivera has gotten away with hurting NYers. Just a year ago, @NYPDPC Tisch unjustifiably let Rivera keep his job, even after her own deputy commissioner found him guilty and said he should be fired for tasing, beating, and killing Allan Feliz during an unjust traffic stop. SHAME!!

BREAKING: @CCRB_NYC offers outrageous plea deal to notoriously abusive cop ❌❌❌

NYPD Lt. Jonathan Rivera shot an unarmed teenager 16 times, brutally murdered #AllanFeliz, and racked up 40 misconduct complaints and 7 lawsuits – but he STILL has his job, his badge, and his gun, and he is STILL hurting NYers. Yet the NYPD, the Lieutenants Union, and now even the CCRB have gone out of their way to protect him 😡

Samy Feliz, the younger brother of Allan Feliz, is demanding @NYCMayor + @NYPDPC reverse course: “Mayor Mamdani, while campaigning you stood with my family outside One Police Plaza calling for Lt. Rivera to be fired. Now it’s time to show New Yorkers you are serious about police discipline and real safety by ensuring your Police Commissioner rejects this plea deal and fires Rivera.

How many years does a family have to fight to fire a single cop? Too many, apparently.

Yesterday, JC members Samy Feliz and Gwen Carr took to the stage at the First Annual NYS Civilian Oversight Conference to demand change.

Mrs. Carr, the mother of #EricGarner, who was killed by NYPD in 2014, gave a moving keynote address recalling her fight for justice and calling for systemic change: "Families like mine shouldn't have to fight for 5 years – or longer – to get a cop fired... We need to fight for systemic changes."

Samy, the younger brother of #AllanFeliz, who was killed by NYPD Lt. Jonathan Rivera in 2019, added the hard truth: the system is rigged, and we need real discipline to build real trust. When @NYPDPC Tisch took months to toss her own deputy's guilty verdict to protect Lt. Rivera, it exposed what we've long known to be true: NYPD cannot and will not police itself.

Both demanded the same thing: strip discipline authority from the Police Commissioner and deliver real change.

In the words of Mrs. Carr, "civilian oversight agencies like the CCRB are critical, but they are also not enough when the system is rigged to protect cops at all costs." The real fight is bigger than any one case -- it's about a broken system that protects itself.

JC has been committed to this fight for the last 40 years, and we're not going anywhere. Are you with us? by @justiceforallan

#AllanFeliz should be celebrating his 38th birthday with his family today. Instead, they are mourning him at a cemetery.

Over SIX years ago, then-Sgt. Jonathan Rivera beat, tased, and shot #AllanFeliz point blank during an unjust traffic stop. For more than half a decade, Allan’s family has fought for the bare minimum of accountability – to #FireJonathanRivera for killing their loved one. Another year has passed and they are STILL fighting because @NYPDPC cares more about protecting killer cops than New Yorkers.

Last fall, Commissioner Tisch overturned the guilty verdict against Rivera and let him off with NO DISCIPLINE, even after both the CCRB and her own Deputy Commissioner found he should be fired. In response, the Feliz family and @JusticeCommittee, represented by @LatinoJustice, @CCRJustice, @GideonOliver, and Beldock Levine & Hoffman LLC, filed a lawsuit against Tisch for her unjustifiable refusal to fire Rivera, demanding the courts reverse her decision. We are waiting for oral arguments to be scheduled.

Since killing Allan, Rivera has been promoted to lieutenant and racked up 6 more misconduct allegations – including another substantiated fireable offense – bringing his total number of allegations to 40.

In spite of this, @NYCMayor Mamdani kept Tisch as his commissioner, opening the door for her to make more biased and unjust decisions that protect violent officers and her own political interests at the expense of our communities.

As we continue to advance the lawsuit, we send Allan’s family love and remember Allan as the beloved father, son, brother, and friend that is missed so dearly. by @justiceforallan

BREAKING: Jessica Tisch has accepted Mayor-Elect Zohran Mamdani's appointment as Police Commissioner 🚨 to say we're concerned is a gross understatement.

After running a historic, people-powered campaign for a more livable New York City, this appointment is a rebuff of Mamdani's promises to New Yorkers and a disturbing endorsement of NYPD’s ongoing violence and corruption. In spite of the image she has attempted to cultivate for herself as a reformer, Tisch has maintained the NYPD’s violent and corrupt status quo by protecting (and even promoting) abusive officers, expanding surveillance, and doubling down on broken windows policing. Within moments of her acceptance of the position, Tisch already indicated that she will split from Mamdani -- calling into question his ability to deliver the bold public safety promises his supporters voted for and New Yorkers need.

As we brace for escalating federal hostility, we need leaders who will do what it takes to protect all New Yorkers – unlike Tisch, who knew about the horrific Canal St. ICE raid in October and did nothing to protect those the NYPD is supposedly supposed to serve.

To realize his vision for a safer NYC, Mamdani must start by replacing Tisch.
