Confession time:

I started this page with the hopes of documenting my weight loss and creating some content on the side. I got really close to my goal well over two years ago when in the summer of 2023 I weighed 207 lbs (the LIGHTEST I've been since high school). I've gone back and forth in my head about weight versus size; I wanted to be either 195 lbs (from 180 when I started in '21) or fit comfortably into a size medium, whichever I could achieve first.

Well it hasn't been easy for me. I use my @loseitapp to track every single morsel I stuffed in my face and I struggled to stay in a calorie deficit. I go a good three to four weeks applying myself and it seems like I can't shake it. And I achieved neither goal (I actually went back up to an XL from a Large). Going into 2026 I will be diligent about my eating habits and focus on getting more active than I am now.

It hasn't been all bad tho. I went from benching 135 at the beginning to handling 205 right now. I even improved my squat depth while PR a 325 squat And deadlift. I know I put on muscle because I see it and I feel stronger. So I know some of the weight gain is due to muscle growth. It's the FAT I need to lose.

All I can do is remain positive and keep moving. It's just tough knowing you have a defined goal you can reach but life, stress and inconsistency gets in the way. I will make it tho. #weightlossjourney #weightloss #weightlosstransformation #gymmemes by @justin.2.lyfe

Before the day goes by I just wanna wish my fellow Knee-grows and Shegroes a Happy, Wonderful, Chairteenth aka #FadeInTheWater aka #MontgomeryTeaParty. As we remember and regale the tale of the infamous Montgomery brawl of 2023, where Black people rallied around a Dock employee who was simply doing his job who was threatened by a gaggle of mayo militants who dared to Fxck around and unfortunately (for them) found Out. All praises to TMH for my 38th year of life.

I think back to 20 years ago, I graduated from high school not even giving this time of my life any real consideration. I knew I'd make it (I hoped I would make it LOL) but not certain of where I would be in my life. To be honest, I know there's an imaginary measurement we all are supposed to live by and I'm unlearning that and working on letting it go but it gets to me. I believed in the American dream (go to school, get a good job, find the girl to be my wife, get married, have kids, get the house, go on holiday vacations, etc.) but it's becoming clear, especially in the past 8 years that is no longer the case for most people.

I don't know where in particular I will be 2 years from now, 12 years, 22 years...but I do know I want to live with purpose; to be able to do for others when I can with the best of my ability. To travel the one Earth we are blessed with (and humanity takes for granted) and witness the greatness of others, and to become more active in the stage play that is life. I can no longer just be a spectator the way I thought I would be. One thing I have to maintain is consistency. I'm NGL this year has been tough for me by not sticking to my diet and lifting weight regularly. I gained 30 lbs even though I know it's partly muscle but there's still fat I need to lose. I have to remind myself that being on this journey is just that: a JOURNEY. I have the rest of my life to work on myself but it has to come with consistency. 🏋🏿‍♂️💪🏿😤
