Last weekend, @outfest Fusion BIPOC Queer Film Festival celebrating the beauty that @imjus2illmatic and @julez540 created, Heritage! Also, @deeegsmejia you know you slay, okay?! 🙌🏽 It is amazing to, again, see Latino queer representation on the big screen alongside so many other beautiful BIPOC films - more people should see work like this because we might able to remain more open and a lil more understanding of others. There is no reason at all queer folk should be attacked or erased, period, we are simply living our own lives. Isn’t that what all of us are attempting to do? Congrats to all the hard working filmmakers who are unwavering in telling their stories and thanks to @outfest for creating the space to do so! Thankful to be a part of this. Oh man oh man oh man! My friends, I’m just so dang happy! Last week I spent time in LA with a lovely team celebrating the work of so many wonderful, passionate and brilliant Latino filmmakers. Among those is @imjus2illmatic , who gave me the opportunity to be a part of his beautiful short film, Heritage. Seb created such a welcoming environment and did such a beautiful job pulling this short film together. Thanks to him, thanks to the crew, thanks to @deeegsmejia , thanks to @laliff_ and thanks @netflix for making this all possible. I’ve never felt so close to a piece and I’m glad I got to explore work that is like me, queer and Latino. Special moments I tell you! Sunday. Taking time to get outside and see the beauty of the world. This is something I am trying to put into action more. I wanna see what the world is all about. We spend so much time consuming the harshest of news - times are hard, at times disheartening, chilling - that we forget that there is STILL simple beauty in the world. Go out into your community. Smile. Warm up. Notice all the other people getting on with life. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 is a multi-disciplinary creative - actor, physical and visual artist. Chevalier is interested in the universal language of physical expression. He explores a physical first foundation as an entry way to authentic and connected storytelling - be it mime work, physical theatre, a play, a musical, or film.

Justin is a graduate of Hofstra University and in 2017-18 studied as a student and member of the American Mime Theatre. Inspired by the work of Marcel Marceau, Chevalier has reproduced vignettes of Marcel’s classics as well as developed his own mime work. One of his favorites - The Bench. Chevalier’s work stretches across stage, tv/film and the canvas.

“THERE’S A WAR GOING ON OUT THERE”

Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. 2026.

A musical! Wow! The quote above, something to think about… while the uber rich live carelessly life still goes on, war can happen, war is happening. When do we pay attention? What are we to do?

I was so thrilled and humbled by this process. Musicals are a beast! Can’t wait to do another! So much going on, so much to learn, so much precision, tons of energy and a little over 4 weeks to pull it all together. I also played 3 different characters in this show and I had the time of my life!

Best part is I did it around an amazing team. The cast was a delight and SO FREGGIN talented, I had so much to fuel me. I had so much support - I love you guys! I found a way to marry my movement to dance with the guidance of @camrynsummer I felt so blessed by the patience and grace that @ohemmgog had teaching me, us music (ur amazing)! @emiliomaxwellcerci oh I’m just so proud of you and your directing work - look at the world you created and all the people you brought together to bring this project to life. Brilliant and dedicated. So so proud of you and thankful for the chance to be apart of this magic. Shout out to my girl @deliaadumont for assisting in direction as well - clear and thoughtful and playful and specific. Thanks doll, a pleasure.

A lil tace of that Lousiana Texas while I was home for my cousins wedding. Lingering of Mardi Gras season. This was out for a lunch celebrating my aunt Pat’s bday - Pat’s a baddie, been one since before we knew what a baddie was!

A little bit of what life has been like this past month. Started the new year off by hopping on a plane back to NYC from Houston and straight into rehearsals for @emiliomaxwellcerci production of Natasha Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812! These are moments from rehearsal 4 and a half weeks of learning the whole show. 3 characters. Oh so much fun! Musicals are so such a beast but I am so glad I had the opportunity to challenge myself - I love an opportunity where I can learn more about myself and this is surely one of those moment!
