@chrisrestorestx was such a fun subject, but even better storyteller! If it wasn’t 105 degrees in Texas, I could have sat around for hours hearing all the amazing places he’s been to and the history of our amazing state. Here is the 2nd roadtrip assignment for @texasmonthly (same story). This roadtrip was focused on “Energy”. So I shot wind turbines, solar fields, oil derricks and the like. This was shooting twelve hour days driving all sorts of back dirt roads trying to find the perfect angles on massive subjects like 450 ft. wind turbines. Sometimes just sitting in a field, camera on tripod waiting for just the right clouds or vehicles on the highway. Another fun one for the books. Thanks Texas Monthly! by @justinclemons

I had the privilege of photographing the 57th mayor of Dallas, Laura Miller for @d_magazine recently. Laura was extremely kind and great to work with. We shot in my studio and then down at the city hall. I really like how it all came out. Go read the story about her! by @justinclemons

I had the opportunity to shoot this interesting story for Texas Monthly magazine. It was about the largest data center in North America, Stargate, and the people in Abilene, TX that it is effecting.

I love shooting stories like this. We were in Abilene for a couple days shooting. I had some direction from Texas Monthly, but had a lot of freedom to just roam and find things that interesting me and thought would be good for the story. I wasn’t able to actually get into the Stargate premises, so we had to get creative with that. It also helped having a drone.

I’ve shot for Texas Monthly for over a decade and always love getting interesting stories like this to shoot.
