What an absolute delight to hang out with the fine folks at @drink_noa, and compete with some of the brightest cocktail minds from across Canada.

A few years ago, you could say that non-alcoholic cocktails were the new biggest trend. You can’t say that anymore, because it’s more than a trend- it’s an expectation. NOA makes it easy to provide the same level of quality and hospitality, no matter the ABV.

Huge congratulations again to @drew_walsh with his well deserved win. Keep an eye on this guy, he’s going places!

If I had a million dollars, I’d buy a lot of gin 🍸

Inspired by the fresh garden and cucumber notes of Hendrick’s, and the whimsy the brand embodies, this cocktail embraces bold flavours with a focus on herbal and fresh garden greens. And of course, a shoutout to @barenakedladiesmusic .

Not a Real Green Dress, That’s Cruel 👗

1.5 oz Hendrick’s Gin @hendricksgin
0.75 oz lime and basil infused Lillet Blanc
0.5 oz green chartreuse
4 dashes Fernet Branca
2 drops 80/20 saline

Somewhere in the crowd, there’s you 🪩

Some cocktails are rooted in history; others exist as a metaphor for some insightful and profound revelation. But sometimes, the perfect moment for a cocktail is when your favourite song comes on under twinkling lights. This cocktail is inspired by the Alberta outdoors, and sitting ‘round the campfire with a guitar and loose memory of lyrics... Or the chilly walk home after a winters night of karaoke.

Inspired by the romantic and intriguing split base in the classic Vieux Carré, this cocktail celebrates the rich wood and fruit flavours when scotch and armagnac come together. The oak and smoke is supported by sweetness and spice from chai liqueur, and herbal bitterness from artichoke liqueur. Brightness from the lemon garnish round out the cocktail to present a diverse array of flavours - spiced, bitter, smokey, herbal. This cocktail is meant to evoke pre-prohibition vibes and stand firm in the “brown and boozy” stirred category, making it a perfect showcase for armagnacs rich history and complex flavour profile.

🍸The Section 16🍸

- @stremybrandy_canada
- Herbes Du Provence infused French sweet vermouth
- Yellow Chartreuse
- Acid adjusted English Damson Plum jam
- Earl grey tea
- Maple syrup
- White pine Saskatoon berry tincture
- Rosemary garnish

Section 16 of Canada’s constitution declares English and French Canada’s official languages. The Section 16 cocktail pays homage to the cultures that contributed to Canada’s foundation - French, English, and of course, Canada’s indigenous peoples.

The star of this cocktail is St-Rémy, a shining example of French craftsmanship. Brandy was among the first European goods exchanged in early Canadian trade routes. St-Rémy’s apricot and floral notes are complemented by French savoury herbs and liqueurs, and British tea and plums to build a refreshing cocktail balancing sweetness and herbal savouriness. And of course, Canada was home to vibrant cultures and diverse ingredients before colonization, represented by maple, pine and Saskatoon berries.

St-Rémy was founded in 1886, the same year that the Canadian Pacific Railway began Canada’s Transcontinental Railway Service. The cocktail’s rosemary garnish on a gold rimmed glass is reminiscent of the prairies, forest, and natural beauty settlers saw as they travelled Canada, the same views we see today.
