Getting from a lead lick back into rhythm takes practice. Here’s an exercise to try! 🎸
Finish your lick on beat one, then return to the rhythm on beat two. Keep it on one chord to start, and keep your foot tapping.

That F chord doesn’t have to stop you playing a song. 🎸 Start with Fmaj7 or a smaller F shape, then build from there. Try these options in Sonnet by The Verve.

Knowing the minor pentatonic scale doesn’t automatically make your improvisation sound like blues. Blues is a language. To speak it, you need vocabulary: licks, phrases, bends, and ideas you can actually use when you improvise.

That’s exactly what we work on inside Blues Immersion, including building your blues vocabulary across the guitar neck. by @justinguitar
