New interview I conducted for It’s Psychedelic Baby Magazine with Kennelmus - obscure bizarre desert psych from Arizona in 1971. Thank you Klemen for writing the wonderful introduction! @psychedelic_baby_magazine by @justinjackley

Herby Records does London! We had a whirlwind weekend in London just to see legendary folk-singer Dave Bixby perform the final show of his last UK/EU Tour. It was absolutely worth it!

Today we release the final installment of the Herby Records X-Ray Record Series! This one, number 5 of 5, is a 7” transparent square record of a remixed Esquivel track with the other 4 records being by Moondog, Raymond Scott, Scott Joplin, and Rolf Lieberman all slightly tweaked by Frank Herbertson.

The artwork consists mostly of half-toned digital collages made with found images of bones, my own dental records, and hand drawn elements printed on transparency paper to retain the x-ray quality.

The series pays homage to the Soviet bootleggers that smuggled illegal music into the USSR during the 1950s/60s by cutting audio into discarded X-ray film…

These super limited records in editions of 25 each are available through Herby Records for a mere $10 each: herbyrecords.bandcamp.com @herbyrecords by @justinjackley

A little album cover action on this Primus Bootleg from a live show at the Austin Music Hall in 2004. Yes - I was at that show! I believe it will be released tomorrow on Herby Records. The original art was a “glaze painting” on a ceramic tile. 🐸 🐸 🐸 by @justinjackley

I have had this cactus for 20 years and used it to clone dozens of others, most of which died in the Great Texas Freeze of 2021, and it just now decided to finally flower. A furry bud popped up a few weeks ago and it slowly started to stretch out. Last night, I sat and visibly watched it bloom for 3 or 4 hours. The night blooming flower lives for 24-48 hours before it shrivels and dies. I find the timing of the flower auspicious as it is right as I’m moving out of Texas and I got to share it with my family before we leave for Oregon on Wednesday. taken in Lake McQueeny, Tx by @justinjackley
