It was just my 1-year 🎈Bike-iversary🎂 wooo!! I first touched a full suspension MTB last May 11th in Tahoe on the Jackass trail, after that I said to myself “this is what I do now.” Been hooked hard ever since. Looking back over this past year, I’ve fallen a lot, and I’ve been scared and challenged maybe more than I have ever been scared and challenged about anything ever in my life. It’s kind of silly that it’s just biking and not something more serious, but that’s one of the many lessons I’ve been learning this past year: to let go and enjoy life in every moment, especially through the hard stuff because that’s where the learning and growing happens, and that’s how we get better. I’ve needed some heathy outlets outside of work, especially after the disc herniations from lifting weights… so biking really found me at a great time. This might be a crash video but I bet next month it will be a full send/make! Remember (with me) to not work your life away, don’t be too serious, have some fun, challenge yourself, encourage your friends, set up a group ride, get out and move, get your blood pumping! It’s hard, but it helps me sleep at night feeling exhausted and happy that I’m using the vehicle/vessel/body that I was gifted! I don’t know this trail very well, so I was just chillin and pre-riding... Came across a bunch of fallen trees, so I was taking it easy incase there were more down. Tried that creek gap and realized I def gotta let go and commit hard- it seemed like that roll in would help launch me farther than it did 😅 probably breaked too hard through it… def made some mistakes but it’s fun to get out there and try stuff I don’t get to do much! I’ll session this trail and post an update after I master all the features, then this will be a nice before and after! Had my first real music festival experience this year- I’ve never done the whole camping thing where you stay there for a whole weekend, I was never that interested in not showering for 3 days lol. I must say this was one of my favorite experiences ever! Made so many new friends and had the most fun dancing and learning about all the fun little festival things like getting sprouted and sharing trinkets… I walked away with my heart full of love and compassion for a new beautiful subculture that revolves around accepting people and making them feel individually special! The festival was called Northern Nights and I would highly recommend it! @nnmfestival by @justinkroger

Been projecting a steep trail at the limit of my ability. I’ve taken the B line 3 times and feel good on it, but tonight I wanted to try the main steep line… probably a little too greasy after the rain (for me). I’m not used to the slick packed dirt yet. I did the hard part and crashed when all I had to do was roll away… better luck next time! I’ll wait for it to dry a bit. Take it easy on me in the comments lol I’m not even a year into riding.
