Wrapped up this full leg sleeve for Garret. 10 months of constant dedication of coming in every month or two. Thanks a ton for the trust and being a rad dude! I’d love to start more large projects like this!

🌙 MOODY. CHARACTER-DRIVEN. BUILT TO WEAR.

Justin Carpenter (@justintattoosnc) has been tattooing since 2011, co-owner of Old Crescent Tattoo Studio just outside Charlotte near Concord Mills, and his style is one of those rare things that feels instantly recognizable. The space where neo-traditional and realism meet: Neo-traditional structure with semi-realistic rendering. Bold linework softened by muted yet vibrant color palettes that give pieces a moody, atmospheric quality most traditional work never reaches. Characters with personality. Compositions that flow with the body rather than fighting it.

It's the color approach that separates him. Not loud for the sake of loud — considered. Tones that work together to create mood and depth, bright where it needs to punch and restrained where restraint makes everything else hit harder. The kind of work that photographs beautifully and looks even better in person.
