They told us to give up.
They said she wouldn’t make it to birth.
They said she wouldn’t grow.
They said she wouldn’t breathe on her own.
They said she wouldn’t leave the NICU.

𝘽𝙐𝙏 𝙂𝙊𝘿.

She defied every expectation.
She is victorious.
She is home.

God is not done with you

1 year since you graduated to heaven 🤍

And still, not a day goes by that I don’t think about you.

I miss you.

As much as I wish you were still here with me,
there’s no greater comfort as your mama than knowing you’re home and safe in the arms of Jesus.

I imagine you now as a toddler, running in your perfect heavenly body.

Whole. Free. Home.

Happy 1st Heaven Day, Jemma Victoria.
Until I see you again. 🕊️ by @justintchen

This year changed us forever.
We started the year walking into delivery asking ourselves,
Would Jemma make it? Would she be okay?

She did.
She met milestones doctors told us she wouldn’t.

And still… this year took us through the fire and tested everything we thought we knew.

We grew in strength, resilience, and faith.
There were days we didn’t know how we would keep going.

But God met us in the middle and gave us peace.

We found joy on the journey.
We became parents.
We were blessed with 7 beautiful months with our sweet girl.
We got to hold her, know her, and see her smile
We experienced a love we had never known before.
God showed up in the middle and provided in ways we never could have imagined.

But suddenly, Jemma went to heaven.

God held us.
He wiped every tear.
He is still good.

We miss her every single day.
But we are still standing
And grateful for everything.
For the time we had with Jemma.
For the invaluable lessons.
For learning to fix our gaze on heaven like never before.

Because a piece of us is already there.

Jemma ran her race.
We still have ours to run.

We keep pressing on.
We keep believing.
We keep dreaming.

Determined to flourish in 2026,
carrying her in our hearts, always 🤍 by @justintchen
