On May 1st, 2026 my life was changed forever. My beloved grandmother transitioned from the physical realm. I don’t even feel like the same person anymore. I am usually the “strong” friend, but the wind has been knocked outta me. I feel exposed like the deepest wound. It took me so long to edit this bcuz of my tears. How do you say goodbye to the woman whose hands you were practically born into? The woman who’s bed you slept in from the time you were born, pretty much until Junior High School? This pain is something unimaginable. I’ve never experienced something so gut wrenching. I am, bcuz you were. I didn’t even have time to mentally prepare bcuz you were so healthy and able bodied. Even till your last day. Who could’ve saw this coming? Not a single soul. 91 and a half incredible years. Thank you for your courage. Your bravery. Your tenacity. Your wisdom. Your stories. Your resilience. Your gangstaness. Your unwavering love. No one will ever compare. Not in this lifetime or the next. Well done Java!! I love you so much 🕊️
