I don’t look like what I’ve been through.I’m Justin White Foreva, a legally blind self taught artist from Englewood Chicago.There was a time I could barely see enough to go get food for me and my granny on 72nd and Loomis. I would take drgs and do art just get away from the feeling it brought me. I know what it feel like to be overlooked, abandoned because of my sight, then watch people come back once the art started moving. It made me resilient, it made me a King.Four years ago I started wearing scleral lenses. Learning to put them in was painful and frustrating, but when I finally could see clearly, the colors and details felt unreal. Faces looked new. It felt like I stepped into a anime.That changed my life and changed my art.My work represents everything I feel but can’t always explain. My painy, my vision ,faith, beauty, women, freedom, confidence, boldness and being who God called me to be.I stopped waiting on validation and put everything into creating. Now I’m on art show 77 and I’m starting something new. Carrying a piece of my art everywhere I go and bringing the work directly to the people.That’s why I’m doing this event.I want people to step inside my world and feel free too. To stop seeking validation, trust they creativity, be bold, express themselves and be who they really are to the max.Come be free with me.My art represents freedom of expression. Being loud when the world want you quiet. Seeing the bigger picture when everybody else only see something unfinished.Everybody’s life is a work in progress just like our art is.
