Very late WGI post:

Lots of love for my two ensembles Beavercreek HS and Centerville HS as well as my family at Rhythm X.

This season was probably the hardest I’ve ever worked as a teacher. the start of this season was incredibly difficult and painful for me. I was about as burnt out as someone could possibly be and was feeling incredibly drained from investing time and energy into a different program just to part ways right before this season started.

I’m very thankful for the staff and students at both of my ensembles for helping me to feel a strong sense of purpose and reigniting my fire.

The work never gets easier, but man is it much more fulfilling when you’re doing it with the right people and for the right people.

Beavercreek percussion, thank you for the lighthearted vibes and for being a self driven machine of an ensemble. There was never a single second where I doubted that you deserved a finals slot this season.

Centerville Winter Percussion, thanks for trusting me to join midseason and thank you for your tenacity. Lots of people doubted you this season, but you kept your heads down and focused on your job. Can’t wait to come back stronger next time, a promise is a promise.

Thanks to anyone who supported either of my groups this year, I try to tell the students any time someone shows them some love and it really does mean the world to them.

Late March 4th post. I’m thankful for all of the opportunities I’ve been given through the marching arts and I take a lot of pride in being responsible for guiding the next generation towards those opportunities as well.

I had such a great season with the 2025 Blue Stars! This was by far my favorite season of drum corps yet & I’m so very thankful to the members, staff, and supporters of the corps for so many great memories and so much hard work!

Working with this drumline was such an awesome experience. They kept pushing and making improvements all the way up to the last show.

Lastly a special shout out to our 4 age outs for choosing blue stars and trusting us the entire way through your last summer season as a member. Can’t wait to see what you guys do next! by @justisaiah123

Nice day! I don’t have many fun photos or videos from this season, but I certainly have many great memories and lessons. 💙

WGI 2024:

This season was really a testament to how much I’ve grown since last season. There are still lots of things that I plan on improving at, but I’m proud of myself for how hard I worked this season. Things were tough for me in a lot of different ways but I’m glad that I was able to make mature choices, especially when things were the most tough for the Plainfield kids at the very end. I’m very thankful for the members, staff, and volunteers at both Plainfield High School and ConneXus.

For a little bit of accountability here are 5 things I want to improve on next year:

- i want to be on time for every rehearsal I attend with both groups, being late is the worst possible way to use rehearsal time

- I want to bounce back faster when things don’t go perfectly according to plan

- I want to be a little better about dividing my time more equally between the two groups that I’m fortunate enough to be on staff with

- I want to be even more vocal in terms of going to bat for the students and staff I get to work with

- I want to be much more proactive in the way I communicate with the people I work with

This season was never really easy for me, but it was always rewarding. I’m so thankful for every opportunity I’ve been given. Thanks for the love 🫡 💚🖤 taken in Indianapolis, Indiana by @justisaiah123

Very late new years post!

2023 was the toughest year of my life! Excited for a much easier 2024 (🤞).

Mostly this year I’m just tryna teach some drums well, hang with friends, make healthier financial and life choices, & just be happy. A few really cool highlights from last year:

- moving to Indiana and getting my teaching career started up again after a long hiatus

- I was offered a really awesome opportunity to work with the snare drums at conneXus & it was the best possible first independent teaching experience I could have asked for

- I got to spend lots of time with my brothers, my nephew, & Michelle

- I wrapped up my time with the bluecoats with my personal favorite drum corps show of all time

- I was offered some really cool teaching gigs for 2024 🔥

There were tons of tough parts but if you know me then you probably understand that I try not to give that stuff too much energy (maybe to a fault sometimes lol).

Thanks for everyone who gave me those really cool opportunities, made me laugh or smile, was tough on me when I needed it, or was there for me when I needed someone in 2023.
