Yes, I’m a Nuyorican.
Yes, I wasn’t born or raised on the island.
Yes, my Spanish is seasoned HEAVILY with English.
And yes, you can hear NYC in my accent before I finish the sentence. 😂

BUT my parents are from Ponce, my Indigenous roots run straight through Puerto Rico, I know the music well enough to sing it AND dance to it, and please don’t play with me about the food. 😂🇵🇷

But more than anything, I got the PRIDE down pat.

And that’s the part I’m most proud to pass on to my kids. They know where we come from, they know our culture, and they know that flag belongs to them too.

Nuyorican. Spanglish speaking. Ponce rooted. Boricua siempre. 🇵🇷

Pretty booked. Pretty busy. And apparently… just trying to be pretty this quarter. 😂💅🏽🎈

Meanwhile the balloons are ballooning, the truck is FULL, and Lush Loons is outsideeee. September has kept us BUSY and I’m so grateful for every setup, every referral, and every client trusting me with their moments. 🤍
