I had the best time ever! I showed up for myself, by myself—a choice I made. I had been sick a couple of days prior and still did okay. While I’m not satisfied with how I performed in the actual race, I’m excited to keep improving. Why settle for average when I know I can be my best?

Partway through, I decided to shift my mindset. Instead of being so focused on me—how I felt, how I was doing—I chose to root for others and soak in the positive vibes. I thanked the people who woke up just to cheer us on, and I realized how often I’m caught up in my own head.

I love you but I am learning to love me more! It’s exhausting always reaching for people who don’t reach back! It’s frustrating to be supportive of peoples beginnings and then be forgotten when they succeed! I will always be there but this mind, body, and spirit, is working on me!
