Today we said goodbye to one of the best boys we’ll ever know 🐾

After 12 wonderful years, it was time to let you rest. As heartbreaking as today has been, the greatest gift we could give you was peace. You gave us a lifetime of unconditional love, loyalty, laughter, and memories that we’ll carry forever.

People always ask why dogs don’t live as long as we do. Maybe it’s because they already know how to love perfectly. They don’t need decades to learn kindness, forgiveness, or how to make every single day count. They arrive, fill our lives with more love than we ever thought possible, complete their job, and then leave us with hearts that will never quite be the same.

Your job here on Earth is done now. You taught us everything you came here to teach, and now it’s your turn to run free, without pain, across the Rainbow Bridge.

We like to imagine the first face you saw was your sister, Missy, waiting patiently for you with her tail wagging. Together again, just as it should be. Knowing you’re no longer apart brings us a little comfort on the hardest of days.

Thank you for every adventure, every cuddle, every greeting at the door, and every moment that made our family whole. You weren’t “just a dog” you were family.

Run free, Ace. Give Missy a cuddle from us, soak up all the sunshine, and keep watching over us until we meet again. We love you always stinky boy ❤️🌈🐾 by @justmedarcee

Years pass, lives change, and somehow you pick up right where you left off, like no time ever touched it.

Today felt like being teenagers again, laughing at the same things, sharing stories that somehow still make sense to each other. A little older, a little wiser, but still us.
