I had spent my career in hair. I understood how to create beautiful hair. But suddenly, I found myself asking a much deeper question — Why is my hair changing in the first place? The more I paid attention, the more I realized my hair wasn’t simply changing. It was communicating with me. So I spent the next twelve years in pursuit of that answer, studying biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, mind-body medicine, and Ayurveda, including five years of study in India. And every discipline kept leading me back to the same realization: The body never works one pathway at a time. Everything is connected. So why would our hair be any different? Hair does not exist separately from the body that creates it. Hair was never simply the problem to solve. It was the result. One of the body’s most visible expressions of everything happening beneath the surface. The nervous system. Cellular health. Inflammation. Circulation. The scalp. All of it communicating with one another, every day. That realization completely changed the way I thought about beautiful hair. Instead of asking only how we could correct visible damage, I began asking how we could support the biology responsible for beautiful hair in the first place. How could we protect our long-term hair health with cellular level care? That is why I created TMPL8. Not because the world needed another haircare brand, but because I believed it was time for an entirely new conversation about hair. One rooted in biology and supported through ritualized care.
