The post where I tell you I woke up with overwhelming gratitude for who I’m partnered with. The most important decision you make in life is who to share your life with and I think I did OK.

I love how we always try to fix things that aren’t working. How honest and open we are with each other. How we pretend to be annoyed when the other person calls from the next room for a hug. I even love how insanely annoying you are on travel days— your Midwest early to everything energy is annoying. I love that we have lives outside of our relationship that the other isn’t involved in. I love that my siblings are still annoyed at you because mummy made the stew peas less spicy because she thought you couldn’t do spicy food. I love that you can do spicy food. I love that I pretend to get annoyed when you and my sister hangout because you both gang up on me. I love that no one in your family ever forgets my birthday. I love that my girlfriends love you. We’re so different, but the same. We probably shouldn’t have made it past that first date, never mind approaching a decade. Like most people in relationships, I take you for granted some days, but I’m always grateful.

I’m not very creative, but I want to work on creating more than I consume. Here’s the first “real” video I‘ve ever done (spent more than 60 seconds editing). Look, I know the world is shitty. But you gotta make the most of it.

Yesterday I didn't feel like celebrating Juneteenth because it's now a federal holiday. I know that makes no sense, but I didn't want a goddamn holiday. And frankly I'm just tried of getting tossed a bone. Tired of settling. Tired of being made to feel like there's progress when there literally is none. We want laws, we don't want another day off to BBQ.

Today I'm choosing to celebrate the life I have anyway. Celebrating how good it is, despite it all. Life can be shitty and good at the same time.
