Axes deer in Hawaii did not disappoint! Challenging in its own way this has been one of the most beautiful hunts! It has simultaneously been the most spidery hunts as well with more grass spiders than deer 🤣. Axes deer is hands down the best tasting wild game meat I’ve had and these animals are so beautiful I can hardly stand it! So freeking blessed to have the chance and ability to travel, work remotely in real estate and stock the freezer all in such a beautiful location and with great people @brigadefmx @ashleychrystine @unsilencedsensei_official by @justtobeclair

My hunter Ray is 82 years old! The nicest guy you’d ever meet! He came up from PA at about 500ft elevation to 8500ft. He told me he couldn’t hike much so of course the universe decided to put a group of 4 bulls at 626 yards that we glassed up right from the road! He dropped him within a minute of us spotting them and was able to make the 3/4 mile walk out the ridge line to get his photo with his bull! He told me later that would be his last bull hunt. Can’t tell you how happy I am he got this bull in such a tough and demanding unit! And to @brigadefmx always for all your help #huntaz #elk #elkhunting @trophyoutfitters by @justtobeclair

It is the rare occasion that one of us has a tag for ourselves, and we are not guiding. So far on this hunt the things that I’ve seen/experienced Not in chronological order. 1. A woman with a blown out tire driving solely on the rim (yes I changed her tire for her and she cried) 2. A blue and orange grasshopper @brigadefmx caught 3. The prettiest sunrises and sunsets (AZ beats NM on that one big time. 4. A female mountain lion stalking a group of big horn sheep and almost catching one. My cometary on the video is hilarious 5. A deer shed and several elk, other mountain lions and bears What I haven’t seen…… a buck I want to shoot!!! But as with any tool, there are both advantages and drawbacks to relying on technology in the woods.

Congratulations to my hunter Bill on this absolute stud of a bull. This was his 26th elk hunt over the years and the first time harvesting a bull! He told me he wanted a 6x with a whale tail. We did one better with this 6x7!!!!! Happy to be a part of it out here at the lodge in NM @trophyoutfitters. Thanks @brigadefmx for helping get this giant back!
