from selling my art at Trinity Bridge in Dallas, Texas,
to being part of the Oak Cliff Art Walk,
to watching my work find new homes , including the original La Payasita Within 🤍

from placing third one year,
to earning second place in the 2025 Catrina Costume Contest,
maybe growth doesn’t always shout, sometimes it just keeps showing up.

I’m deeply grateful for the trust of new collectors and clients who allowed me to paint pieces filled with faith, history, and devotion.

This year reminded me that hope still lives in art.
that equality can be painted, worn, and shared.
that even when they tell us art isn’t revolutionary

Esta creación no es una burla, sino un tributo.
Un homenaje a la Virgen María de Guadalupe, símbolo de fe, amor y protección, fusionada con La Catrina, emblema de la muerte, la memoria y la trascendencia.
Juntas representan el ciclo eterno de la vida y la muerte, la luz y la sombra que habitan en todos nosotros.
La Catrina nos recuerda que la muerte no es el final, sino el regreso al espiritu, a nuestras raíces, a la energia divina. La Virgen representa la esperanza, la compasión y la te, la luz que nos guía en la vida y mas allá de ella. En México, la fe y la muerte caminan de la mano.
Rezamos por los que ya no están, encendemos velas, construimos altares, todo en un mismo acto de amor y devoción. Este traje celebra esa dualidad sagrada:
“La muerte que honra la vida. La fe que vence la oscuridad.”
Así que cuando alguien pregunte: “¿Qué tiene que ver la Virgen de Guadalupe con La Catrina?” La respuesta es sencilla, Todo.
Ambas viven en el corazón de nuestra cultura, de nuestra te y de nuestra identidad. Son el equilibrio: la madre divina y el espíritu eterno, la vida y la muerte unidas en amor y respeto.
