So excited to present my new projection mapping work 'Supergent' on Blink Festival 2026 @blinkcincinnati 🖤 Supergent is a study of emergence and it started from something much more instinctive.

Walking through different cities, I kept feeling that each place had its own energy, something created by the people, architecture, movement, history and environment all affecting each other. The same feeling exists in nature too, that something larger appears from all these individual elements coming together.

Supergent explores this invisible force, the constant exchange between humans and their environment, and how new forms, behaviours and futures can emerge. A future perhaps not so human afterall. from Music: @aenigma.music @brentits #projectionmapping #visual #blinkfestival #emergence #light taken in Cincinnati, Ohio by @juyulab

We started to build a community in Sydney.🖤 Last week we had our second Immersive Signal EP2 hosted by the amazing NeonDynamo. Heath Campanaro, Simon Connell who provided the space, drinks, food and honestly, Sydney’s immersive scene is very much alive, slightly underfunded, and ready to collaborate.

A huge thank you to everyone who came, listened, shared ideas, asked questions, stayed for the laser light snow battle, and proved that this city is full of artists, producers, technologists, researchers, sound people, light people and beautifully strange creative minds from the fashion industry too. Because it's better to connect then to only like each ther IG stories and send last minute VO-s.

Sydney has an exciting creative scene, but we need more spaces where these different worlds can meet, exchange ideas and start new collaborations. Australia is not behind in talent it is behind in infrastructure, continuity and investment.

That’s why we created Immersive Signal with Melanie Horkan : to bring more new media art to Sydney, connect the community, and help make projection, light, sound, performance and interactive public art part of the city’s identity all year round.

Massive thank you to our speakers:
Melanie Horkan
Seán O'Donoghue
NeonDynamo : TIME:WARPED

And to the brilliant sponsors:
NeonDynamo
ER Productions
Harry the hirer Productions

who helped make this event possible, and to NeonDynamo for hosting us so generously!🫶

More coming soon!

3 months to go until the largest light festival in the US.

Excited to share that I’ve been selected as a projection mapping artist for @blinkcincinnati 2026.

In 2024 I created Urbaphilia, a data visualization project for BLINK as a featured artist on the iconic Music Hall. 2 million visitors in 4 days. Before that I became a monk in the forest for a while and was working on Urbaphilia.

Since then, this research has grown into JŪ YU Lab exploring cities as living systems, invisible signals, collective intelligence, AI, neurons, pheromones, concrete, light and order in chaos.

8–11 October 2026. Cincinnati, Ohio. Thank you @blinkcincinnati for having me again.

Yesterday at TEDx Sydney Cortex. @tedxsydney our new artwork debuted. "Supergent is a generative study about emergence, the hidden process building everything around us. Pheromones laying invisible trails. Sydney pulsing through its concrete. Neurons wiring a thought. AI emerging from a billion small operations. Same ancient code, new material. A living system, looking at itself." Thank you for your support @melanie.horkan.9 and @romyover #emergence #ai #juyulab #tedxsydney #ted taken in The State Library of New South Wales by @juyulab
