This little girl is 6 months old today. These days are going faster and faster.

Addison has been entered for the Baby of the year and it’s time to vote! While the monetary prize would be super nice at helping pay off some of these medical bills and starting a healthy savings for our girl, the prize most important to me is the spread in variety magazine. This is where we get to tell Addison’s story.

We have been so lucky to share our smiley little girl with everybody, but there was a moment when we were afraid we might not get to. This is our opportunity to turn Addison’s very scary start to life into an advocacy so that other families don’t have to be in the dark about potential threats like #infantbotulism.

She’s home! This VERY smiley little girl has already taken us on quite a wild ride. What we initially thought might be the start of a respiratory issue turned out to be infant botulism (no, I did NOT give my infant honey). What a whirlwind this past week has been.

We were told she could be in the hospital for weeks, possibly even months, but luckily Addison wasn’t having that. She did what she needed to do and busted out after just 8 days.

Life is going to look a little different for a while, but with how resilient this little lady has been, we know we’ll be back on track in no time. Side note: if anyone ever needs an NG tube dropped Mike and I are now professionals. #infantbotulism #infantbotulismawareness #ngtubebaby by @jv1757
