70 years of JVA, and we’re still celebrating!

As our anniversary year continues, we’re sharing a few favorite moments from our celebration at the Boulder Theater. It was one memorable evening in a year honoring seven decades of collaboration, community, and our Rocky Mountain roots.

To the clients, partners, team members, and friends who have shaped our story since 1956: thank you for being part of it. Here’s to what we’ll build together next.

Earlier this month, JVA joined project partners and community members to celebrate the grand opening of The Grove at Cottonwood in Broomfield.

The new 40-unit affordable housing community was thoughtfully designed to support independent living for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. JVA was proud to provide civil engineering services throughout the project, helping support the site from early planning and entitlement through design and construction.

Congratulations to Broomfield Housing Alliance and the entire project team on this meaningful milestone.

We’re excited to have four JVA water and wastewater engineers presenting at this year’s Rocky Mountain Water Conference!

Annabel Mungan, PE, and Simon Farrell, PE, will kick things off Tuesday with "Letting Microbes Do the Work: Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal,” sharing how biological processes can be put to work to improve phosphorus removal.

On Wednesday, Jacqueline Wong, PE, and Janet Hausmann, PE, will present “Beyond Collaborative Delivery: How to Rebuild a WWTP with No As-Builts,”highlighting lessons learned from navigating the challenges of an existing facility with limited record information.

If you’re heading to the conference, stop by their sessions and say hello. We’re looking forward to connecting with colleagues across the Rocky Mountain water community!

City Park’s beloved bandstand has brought music and community together since 1896. After a fire caused severe damage on March 26, 2026, the City of Denver began planning for a replacement.

JVA is excited to team up with @mundusbishop to help bring the bandstand back to life. Our team will provide structural assessment and design services for a new structure inspired by the historic character of the 1924 design.

Demolition is planned for later this fall—but only after the protected swallows nesting beneath the bandstand have fledged.

Stay tuned as this Denver landmark begins its next chapter!

JVA is proud to celebrate the reopening of the iconic Hanging Lake Trail in Glenwood Springs!

Following the Grizzly Creek Fire and subsequent debris flows, the trail required significant reconstruction to safely welcome visitors back to one of Colorado’s most treasured natural landmarks. As part of the DHM Design-led project team, JVA provided civil and structural engineering design services for the nearly $5 million restoration effort.

Our scope included trail and bridge engineering design for realigned trail segments, six replacement timber pedestrian bridges, improved stream crossings, a new boardwalk near Spouting Rock, and trailhead enhancements.

Congratulations to our civil & structural teams and to all project partners who helped make this restoration possible.
