On this, the first day of autumn, I finally get around to posting from the summer…starting with my first-ever visit to Fire Island!

Jamie and I ventured out for a day trip and, you know what? I get it. A queer paradise, truly! The boardwalks, the most gorgeous beaches, the homes, the DEER (!!!), the beauty. PHILLY PRIDE: Louie Edition! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️💕

Felt lucky to be able to march for Pride this year with my nephew, mom, sister, and brother-in-law. Lou was fascinated and amazed—mainly by the furries! It was so special to experience this celebration of love and community through his eyes! I spent much of 2025 looking in the face of anxiety. The initial picture in this series is about a week after the first panic attack of my adult life. Lexapro (honestly life-changing), many hours of therapy, and new skill-building followed.

But none of those remedies came even remotely close to the comfort and calm of spending time with the friends, family, and dogs I love. These pictures are a mere snapshot of memories shared. The people in my life buoyed me—and continue to—and I am forever grateful 💗 2025 was one of the toughest years of my life, but all of you (and you know who you are, even if I couldn’t squeeze in a picture) made it bearable. 2025: A Year Spent Outside

Jamie makes fun of me for how insistent I am about getting outside—and how I can’t help myself from saying, “it’s so nice out!” within moment of stepping off the stoop. What can I say? I love trees. And flowers. And waves. And the sunset. And even just strolling down Passyunk!

I was lucky enough to spend so much of the year on trails and beaches, in city parks and arboretums. From Philly to Miami to New York to Oaxaca, nature left me awed, smiling, and exclaiming. We all need to get outside more in 2026! See you there 😊 by @jved54

2025: A Year in Art

From Cecily Brown and Henri Rousseau at the Barnes to Kent Monkman, Ruth Asawa, Wilfredo Lam, Titus Kaphar, and Faith Ringgold (to name a few) at favorite museums; becoming acquainted with new artists at local galleries, including Eustace Mamba at Paradigm and Anna Wehrwein at Pentimenti, to delighting in Salman Toor’s breathtaking multi-space Manhattan exhibition; taking in street art in Miami and equally hysterical and heartbreaking theater in Philly and New York...

Art was a lifeline this year. I’m so grateful to work in a museum, to constantly learn about artists and artworks that inspire me, and to share in it all with Jamie, friends, and family. Here’s to even more challenging and beautiful work in 2026! by @jved54
