Our first movie date, we’re standing in the concession line. He orders me a soda and candy and gets himself popcorn. As we’re waiting, he asks, “Are you sure you don’t want popcorn?”

“Nah, I’m good. I don’t really eat popcorn like that. I’ll take a handful of yours.” (I mean, he ordered a supersized one! 🤣)

He looked me DEAD IN MY FACE and said, VERBATIM, “I’ll share anything with you, but I don’t share my popcorn.”

Then turns to the guy and says, “Let me get another.” 🤣🤣🤣

As the wedding planning officially begins, it’s hard not to stop and relive the moment that started it all.

I never want to forget a single detail. Every feeling, every thought, every smell, every laugh, every tear. The sand beneath my feet, the wind blowing, the sound of the waves, the seagulls overhead. The emotions, the excitement, the overwhelming love… all of it.

If I could bottle up a moment in time and relive it over and over again, it would be this one.

This moment right here will forever be one of the most beautiful moments of my life. A feeling I don’t think words will ever fully capture.

And while I cannot wait for the day we say “I DO,” there’s something so beautiful about going back to the moment I said “YES.” ❤️

Forever grateful to my love and our kids (young adults 😉😂) for making this moment more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

Day One Prayer 🙏🏽

Father God, I come before You in the name of Jesus with a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for this new day, this new opportunity, and this new assignment.

Cover me, guide me, and anoint me to perform my duties with excellence. Let my attitude, my actions, and my work reflect You. In every room I enter, let me carry the light of Christ.

I declare this day and this new season blessed, and I cancel every assignment of the enemy over my life in Jesus’ name.

You have ordered my steps, and I will not take this opportunity for granted. I will give it my all, working as unto You. May my work be pleasing in Your sight.

Thank You for Your mercy, Your grace, and Your favor. Continue to have Your way in my life as I step into this new season. All the honor, glory, and praise belong to You.

Tomorrow everything changes. I am excited and nervous at the same time. This opportunity is so much more than just a job to me. It is the peace and security that I have prayed for.

I have owned my own business for the past 11 years. There is a tremendous amount of freedom that comes with that but also a tremendous amount of responsibility as well. I’m not going to lie I am really looking forward to working in a environment where all I have to do is show up. Perform my duties at a high level and know that everything else will be taken care of. I truly believe that I possess the type of skills that will allow me to thrive in any environment but West Point is something different. I know its place of employment, but for me I honor it as an institution of higher learning, growth and development.

One of the greatest lessons that I have learned over the years is that life is not so much about what possess, as it is about who you become along the way. That is the real reward. With that being said, I know that the last 4 years have prepared me for this moment. It’s Go Time…… I’m Ready……I have earned the right to here……

The season has officially shifted.

A little over a week ago I got engaged to my best friend 💍, and now I’m excited to share that I’ve accepted a job offer to become a Barber at West Point…….The United States Military Academy

Man, I’m so excited and beyond grateful. And if I’m being honest, I’m in complete awe of what God is doing in my life right now.

Especially because I know what it took to get here.

Not too long ago, I took some pretty significant losses and had to rebuild myself from the bottom. I had to lock in, get my mind right and get clear about what I wanted my life to look like moving forward.

And now the crazy thing is, I’m actually witnessing the things I saw in my mind become a reality.

So yeah… your boy is headed to West Point. And I’m excited to see what this next chapter brings.

To all my clients, don’t panic……Tri-State Barbershop is staying open and I’m still going to be cutting at the shop. My schedule and booking availability will definitely be changing, so stay tuned for those updates.

My life is changing fast, new doors are opening, the peace and security that I have been longing for is here and I’m just grateful to be able to share the journey with you all.

My ladies… ❤️

I can’t even begin to thank you both for everything you did and for all the help you gave your father to make this one of the most memorable moments of my life. But this weekend was about so much more than just me.

You both, along with Ray, pulled together to help your dad pull this off, and THAT is what family does. ❤️

I am so honored and truly blessed to have you as my bonus, not-so-much-babies-anymore. 😂

I’ve known you both since you were ankle-high, and I have loved you your whole lives. Your father or not, you have always had a place in my heart. And now I get the blessing of loving you in a whole new way for all the days of my life.

Thank you for the laughs. Thank you for being present. Thank you for wanting to be a part of this. And most of all, thank you for the love you’ve shown me.

I love you both so much. ❤️ May God continue to bless you, guide you, and cover you always.
