Africa's creative industries just got a major infusion of capital behind them.⁠

The African Export-Import Bank, known as Afreximbank, has officially launched its $1 billion Pan-African Film Fund, tapping publishing and production veteran Lavaille Lavette to lead it as Chief Executive Officer.⁠
⁠
The fund is established through the bank's development impact investment arm, the Fund for Export Development in Africa (FEDA), with FEDA and Lavette's One Street Studios serving as Co-General Partners.⁠

The fund will invest across the full value chain, from content production and post-production infrastructure to digital streaming platforms, cinema exhibition and global distribution networks. ⁠

Afreximbank, through its development impact investment arm FEDA, has appointed One Street Studios as Co-General Partner of the Pan-African Film Fund, a landmark initiative aiming to mobilise up to US$1 billion to accelerate the growth of Africa's film, television and immersive media industries.

The Fund will provide long-term capital across the audiovisual value chain from content creation and production to infrastructure, distribution and digital platforms unlocking new opportunities for African storytellers to reach global audiences.
