The key points of its importance are detailed below:

Non-invasive monitoring: It allows the study of elusive, rare, or nocturnal species (especially mammals) without the physical presence of researchers, thus avoiding altering the animals' natural habits.

Information for Conservation: It provides accurate data on biodiversity in a given area, facilitating informed decision-making for natural resource management and the creation of conservation strategies.

Muchas gracias a @carlos_aves_colombia por su asesoramiento en la edición de la foto de esta maravillosa ave. Al tener una elevada iridiscencia en su plumaje, la cosa se me complicó a la hora de editar y tuve que apoyarme en Carlos. También conocido como Zafiro Coroniazul o el Púrpura Coronado, es de tamaño mediano. La hembra tiene el pecho de color gris.

Many thanks to Carlos for his advice on editing the photo of this magnificent bird. Its plumage is highly iridescent, which made the editing process tricky and meant I had to turn to Carlos for help. Also known as the Blue-crowned Sapphire or Purple-crowned Sapphire, it is a medium-sized bird. The female has a gray breast.

Es una subespecie endémica y colorida que habita en los bosques húmedos en la zona de la Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Mide aprox unos 27 cm, esta especie presenta diformismo sexual. Puedes conseguir su avistamiento en la Reserva ProAves El Dorado

It is a colorful, endemic subspecies that inhabits the humid forests of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region. Measuring approximately 27 cm, the species exhibits sexual dimorphism. You can spot it at the ProAves El Dorado Reserve. @reservaeldoradooficial
