Iron Skull 2026!!! 💀 I entered the Iron Skull painting competition for the first time this year. I didn’t win anything but I loved seeing the amazing work on display and I chatted to some very cool people, so big thanks to Alex, James @vikingpaintingplastic and Ben who all joined me on the Male Loneliness table 😜 Here are some images of the cool things I saw in a nice long list: (P.s If you know an Artist I couldn’t find, please pop them in a comment so i can add them). 1. Iron Skull was held at the Brentwood centre. I spent a couple of days in Brentwood and enjoyed it a lot. 2/3. I entered my latest model AKIRAT and my GUYVER unit 2, which despite not winning anything in two Paint comps, it’s still my favourite. 4. Being Judged… 5. Light effect on the claw is outstanding @simonsbrushwork 6. Love @hellhound.paints colour choices and it definitely has a lot of soul. 7. It’s great to see some BLOOD!!!! @innercirclepainter 8. Rain effect is 😗👌 @dustypaintpots 9. Insain detail on the AT-AT. 10. Beautiful detail and colour work @theboldbear 11. Could not believe how good the Junior section was. 12/13. All the pieces entered by @hendarion were stunning and he got the trophies to prove it. 14/15. You can see every brushstroke by @martin_fen_model_show_ I cant imagine how long they took. 16/17. Two different Artists, but you can see how much they LOVE painting Tyranids. @drw_grimdark 18. Part of an Amazing Army display. 19. Fantastic artist @gwhartonart drawing live during the event. 20. An interesting store at the show… @curio.frames #IronSkull2026 #MiniaturePaintingCompetiton JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
🐀 + 🏍️ = AKIRAT!!! I heard about the CheeseStealer Cult from the @thepaintingphase Podcast and became OBSESSED! I have converted nearly ALL of the GeneStealer Cult models I got from the Combat Patrol subscription into Cheese Stealers! I often see people saying there should be a Skaven army in 40k but I always thought that is what the Tyranids are, right??? Prove me wrong in the comments 😜 But I love the CheeseStealer Cult, just seeing them makes me smile. I wanted to make another AKIRA themed model but I didn’t want to just copy my White Scar Akira Slide again so this time I wanted to try recreating the Light Trails seen in the film. And I tried to stay as close to Kaneda’s anime design as possible for this Akira style Rat and it is also the first one of my Cheese Cultists that I’ve painted so far. #CheeseStealerCult #Warhammer40k #AKIRA #SpaceSkaven #AkiraSlide JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
I went on an Adventure! ⛴️ 🚂 🚌 🚶 A Ferry, a Train and a Bus to go check out Merlin’s Miniatures in Tangmere, Chichester. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable. And the store was Jam-Packed with miniature kits and an extensive amount of hobby supplies. I honestly couldn’t think of any tools or miniature supplies they were missing, by far the best I’ve seen 🤩 But I REALLY liked the Miniatures on display! (If you know the artists PLEASE link them in a comment so I can see more of their work). I also LOVED seeing the BIG stuff I’d never get for myself, especially the Aeldari, they look nuts 😍 Well worth your time. And Chichester centre is 5 mins up the road, I was really pleased to see so many people out and about shopping & chatting. In my town you go to the town centre because you need to go through it to get somewhere else 🙃 @merlins_miniatures #Tangmere #Chichester #HobbySupplies JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
Miniature Painting Open 2026! 🖌️ I didn’t enter this year (life got in the way) BUT I did go to the show to see all of the Amazing work on display! Here are some of my favourites (I will add tags once they are on the main site but if you know the artists, feel free to leave them in the comments) The MPO layout this year was fantastic! I loved that there were multiple floors in use and everyone got more space to shine. Can’t wait to go again next year! #CultOfPaint #MiniaturePaintingOpen2026 #MPO2026 #PaintingContest JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
Lego Botanicals x Real Plant 🌱 With a little modification I replaced the Lego plant with an AirPlant, airplants don’t need soil to grow, so they are perfect for this Happy little Lego pot 🪴 #LegoBotanicals #Lego #AirPlant #AirPlantsOfInstagram #HappyPlants JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
PAIN IN THE NECK This was built for @merlins_miniatures charity event! Merlin Miniatures very kindly asked me to donate a mini to be sold for Miniatures for Mental Health 2026, in partnership with @rally_point_games_and_minds and @eavy_mental_ealth raising funds for Mind. MIND is a mental health charity in the UK. All minis will be showcased and sold during Mental Health Week, with 100% of proceeds going to Mind. ===UPDATE=== The event raised £2,620.52 (+£656.13 gift aid) for MIND Charity!!! ============ I don’t actually have ANY finished minis at the moment, but I had an idea! So I made this up just for the event. The base is weighted and the Aeldari windrider is light enough to be suspended on a single piece of paper clip metal. Obviously I had to make it bloody so used some DirtyDown Gore to hide the joins. I can’t wait to hear how the event goes and hopefully see the other minis entered for it 🤩 #Warhammer #Aeldari #Eldar40k #Windrider JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond

LAST RITES The Battle is lost. One sister left standing. A sea of Tyranids enclosing. She readies herself, and screams her final Prayer. Part 8 of 9 🗡 JoyToy Giant 40K Diorama! Check out my gallery for more and to see its Twin, the Warhammer 40k MINI version of this same Diorama 😁 Commissioned by @goblinshut ===UPDATE=== If the music choice is too Spicey for you, there are 8 other posts on this project, All with fantastic (but different) music choices 😉 BLOOD! There is alittle info on how I did the blood in my other posts, especially Part 7 of 9 but I am working in a short video explaining it far better. That will be probably be posted on @GoblinsHut if not on here. Watch This Space 😘 ============= @warhammerofficial @joytoy_official #Warhammer #JoyToy #WarhammerDiorama #WarhammerJoyToy #AdeptusSororitas JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
LAST RITES! Part 7 of 9 🗡 40k JoyToy Diorama! @joytoy_official @warhammerofficial JoyToy commission for the great @GoblinsHut So unlike the Warhammer Mini, this JoyToy version DID need supports inside the Blood effects. I cut into the Paragon Warsuit, and ran a wire coat hanger through the forearm and wrist, carved out the underside of the sword and then bent the wire around and attached the end of the wire into the head of the standing Tyranid. I then cut another Tyranid in half and attached it to the middle of the wire. The fun bit was the Blood. I used some Dirty Down Gore on a sheet of greaseproof paper to make large flat slices of blood and then brushed on a thin layer of UV resin. Once attached, more blood pulled over it, and then more uv resin 😉 I wanted the JoyToy and Warhammer Mini to look EXACTLY the same so there was alot of lengthening/shortening areas on the JoyToy and building up areas with milliput. @_warhammer_community #Warhammer40k #WarhammerJoyToy #JoyToy #WarhammerDiorama #AdeptusSororitas JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
LAST RITES! Part 6 of 9 🗡 @WarhammerOfficial @JoyToy_Official JoyToy and Warhammer 40k Diorama set. More Fantastic photography by @corey.k.figures !!! #Warhammer #AdeptusSororitas #JoyToyWarhammer40k #JoyToy #WarhammerDiorama JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
LAST RITES! Part 5 of 9 🗡 @warhammerofficial @joytoy_official Same Diorama, 2 different scales! One made with 40k JoyToys and the other are Official Warhammer minis. Project took me 3 months to make but I enjoyed it. Part commission, part gift 😎 #Warhammer #JoyToy #AdeptusSororitas #WarhammerDiorama #DirtyDownGORE JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
LAST RITES! Part 4 of 9 🗡 JoyToy BIG and Warhammer Mini! @warhammerofficial @joytoy_official Same Dioramas at different scales 😈 I was commissioned to make a JoyToy Diorama by @goblinshut The original idea was to make a JoyToy version of an Outrider mini I had previously made but we couldn't find the figures we needed. So I was just going to make the JoyToy Diorama, but Mark at Goblin's Hut has been so supportive of my work throughout 2025 that I made the mini as a secret Christmas Present for him.... a... late Christmas present 😅 I tried my hardest to get them to look EXACTLY the same, lengthening/shortening parts, sculpting and even the tree parts are from the same branch (soaked in anti-rot resin). Not perfect, but I would recommend making Big/Little versions of a Warhammer scene. I learnt alot 😊 #Warhammer #AdeptusSororitas #JoyToy #WarhammerDiorama #DirtyDownGORE JWBeyond 2026 by @jw_beyond
