WAKE ME UP - A Sleep Paralysis Film.

A very unique project as it was filmed in one single take.

A long time in pre production and many, many rehearsal runs to get this shot in one fluid take.

I wrote this film after experiencing false awakenings and sleep paralysis on several occasions. I wanted to show what it felt like being trapped within multiple dreams.
Such a terrifying experience.
Has anyone else ever experienced this?

‘Have you ever been trapped in a dream where no matter what you do, no matter how hard you scream, kick or punch there is no escape.’

A short live recap from an early “secret set” by @sleep_token at @uktechfest .

Moments like this are why I love shooting live music — raw energy, atmosphere and intensity captured as it happens. Being there to document sets like this, before the scale exploded, is something special.

If you’re looking for gig, live event, or festival coverage, get in touch — always open to new shows and new spaces.

Scroll to the end for some BTS!

So as some of you may know, my band @erida.uk released our debut self titled EP recently. I just wanted to take a moment to share some of the stills and some BTS moments from our video shoot.

Myself and @dylliamgoosley wrote the instrumental for this EP over 2 years ago and recorded it with the incredible @kieranjdsmith and through lots of patience, extreme low points that made me nearly give it up and member changes we finally found @awrytm8 who came on board as vocalist and he's been killing it ever since. His raw aggressive vocals fit perfectly into our style and theme for the band. And I'm sure you'll have noticed (if you've listened to any of the songs) he sounds badass 👹👌

Fast forward to this year where we got the amazing @jwacreations to come up to Glasgow and film our music video for THE SULPHUR CULT. We couldn't have asked for a better person to capture what we wanted and the feel we wanted to put across. He even helped clean off the maggots before Aidan put them in his mouth 🤢 Thank you Joey, you absolute legend 🙏

I also would like to thank the amazing @deathbymydesign for the Incredible artwork, nailing exactly what we wanted and being so helpful and kind throughout the process. 🖌️

And to @heathergrahamphotography for taking such cool photos of us to use on our socials. 📸

Thank you to my band members for being incredible. Thank you to everyone we have worked with to make this happen and Thank you also to everyone of you who has streamed the EP on Spotify or checked out the music video on YouTube, we see you.

While we get ourselves ready to go live for you all, please continue to watch / listen to our music and share it around if you can, it means the world to us .

We will see you soon. 👹

This is me - Joey.
The ugly mug behind JWA Creations and @jwaweddings

I’m the guy who directs, lights, shoots, grades and edits almost everything you see on my pages. I work with my clients closely to make sure I absolutely nail their vision. Be that a gritty, dark, chaotic heavy metal music video, a beautifully cinematic wedding, a sleek automotive piece or an engaging and eye catching promotional piece for branding. I cover it all, and every single piece gets my full attention and dedication until the job is done and my clients are happy!

I offer a range of packages for a range of budgets so if you want a professional performance based music video - I got you. If you want to build sets, hire cars, actors, huge venues - I got you too. I can help guide and direct you towards fulfilling your ideas to their best potential without sacrificing quality.

So sliiiiiiiide on in to my DMs and let’s make your vision come to life!
