Today, for the first time, I sit in the United Nations General Assembly. A sacred bastion of peace and unity. It’s surreal to even comprehend the gravity of this moment.

But as I sit in this room, Ukraine remains under an unjustified attack on its sovereignty, its territory, and it’s people.

Just two rows in front of me is the delegation of Belarus, a nation that at this very moment aids Russia in moving troops into Ukraine.

Just down the hall, the UN Security Council meets with Vladimir Putin of Russia in an effort to end an invasion that has already lead to catastrophic losses of life.

On the screen, a prerecorded statement from Ukraine is delivered on “Galvanizing Momentum for Universal Vaccination”. Even as they are at War, Ukraine reasserts it’s commitment to international cooperation on ending this pandemic. It’s remarkable.

There is never a proper time for war, but surely now is the worst possible time for it. The world has not recovered from this grueling pandemic. The world does not need more armed conflict. This is why I use my voice and my actions to encourage you all to support Ukraine in this moment.

Do your part to stay informed and help bring an end to this unjustified war.
