Jimmy Ferguson (@jwjfilms) is an award-winning filmmaker and cinematographer whose work spans narrative cinema, documentary, video art, and interdisciplinary projects. Over a career that has taken him to more than fifty countries, he has developed a distinctive visual approach grounded in creating visceral cinematic experiences that foster human connection.

Recent feature credits include the psychological thriller VIRAL (starring Blair Underwood and Sarah Silverman), Pointe Noire, Step Back, Doors Closing, and the documentary feature Torah Tropical. Projects he has photographed have premiered at festivals including New Directors/New Films, CPH:DOX, the International Film Festival Rotterdam, and DOC NYC, and have been exhibited at institutions including MoMA, the Whitney Museum, and the Smithsonian.

He currently lives and works between international productions and the tropical Andes of Colombia, where he founded @TierraSatva, an evolving land-based art project exploring ecology, culture, and more conscious ways of relating to the landscape. by @jwjfilms
