These shows reminded me exactly why I fell in love with My Chemical Romance.

They’re arty, nerdy, little weirdos with an energy that makes so many of us feel at home in the worlds they create.

Gerard’s delivery is like nothing else and still just as good as it was the firstitime they toured TBP.
There were cathartic tears, joyous shrieks.

Moments of looking around, and just taking it all in, while listening to thousands of people bellow lyrics that have been embedded in my brain for decades.

It’s so cliche but ‘l am not afraid to keep on living, I am not afraid to walk this world alone’ hits different when you didn’t think you’d still be here to hear it 20 years later. by @jxbird

Hey pals, I’ve been a little quiet over this here this year. Not to bum everyone out but it’s been a fuckin’ hard one so far. 😳

I’ve journeyed through losing a family member, a 14 year relationship and other connections ending, my spine further deteriorating, and most noticeably, having a sneaky 6cm tumor (Joanna Lumpley) and half my thyroid gland removed 🥲.

I’m real gutted that I’ve missed important life events, seeing loved ones, work, festivals, and as a freelancer, chances to network and open further doors.

However the year isn’t done with me yet! The next challenges are healing, securing a new contract when my much enjoyed maternity cover at @thedomelondon comes to an end in October, a new home and then to build a new life for myself (Getting the Deftones dust out of my respiratory system would be lush too 😷).

Thank you to all the lovely family, friends, partners, colleagues and sweet creatures that share their light, love and patience with me as I continue through this transitional period.
You’re the fuckin’ best and I am so very grateful ♥️

One thing I will harp on about are grassroots/independent music venues. This is precisely why they are so important, the baby bands in small venues will be stadium fillers and festival headliners one day.

If you lived in the south west of England in 2006, you’ll know Yeovil had a ridiculously good music scene. ✌️
