POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last summer I didn't know if I would ever play basketball again and honestly didn't know if I would make it out of surgery. While others were able to play aau, train and work on getting better in the offseason I had to get open heart surgery. Today, I am no longer chasing what I was because up until that day I dropped on that floor, I only had 1 artery correctly pumping blood to one side of my heart. For months I couldn't lift my arms above my head, I couldn't lift more than 5lbs. I had to teach myself how to shoot a basketball again because it would hurt to have a shooting range of motion when I tried. Mentally this has been the toughest battle I've faced. I got cleared for contact 2 weeks before the basketball season started. My heart was fixed, but now I had to reintroduce myself to the game all over again. No summer and fall league to prepare, no workouts to get ready. I was able to play every game this season, got face guarded and double teamed some nights when all I was trying to do was breath properly during the game. My story and journey is not like others. The Doctor told me it would take a year for me to feel like my old self. I will rebuild to be back better than I was. This is just the beginning #forevergrateful #agtg by @jyahshep

❤️ A Night We Will Never Forget — Rhythm Within 2026 ❤️

Yesterday evening, Jeremiyah’s story took center stage at AdventHealth’s Starlight Gala.

A year ago, I could have never imagined the young man who would walk onto that stage and deliver such a powerful testimony and call to action to more than 900 people. But that’s exactly what J did. ❤️

We watched a room full of strangers cry, rise to their feet in a standing ovation, and then give generously to support cardiac care. There truly aren’t words to describe how proud Fred and I are of him.

We are so thankful to the incredible AdventHealth team, Dr. Patel, Evan, and Vu for choosing J and telling his story so beautifully and powerfully through video. 💕

Thank you Uncle Brian Shepeard and Joe for coming to support.

Fred and I remain incredibly grateful as God continues to open doors and create opportunities for J to grow, use his voice, and find purpose in his journey.

Jeremiah 29:11 isn’t just a verse connected to his name—it has become the foundation of his testimony. ❤️✨🙏🏽

Please watch his speech in the video attached and the standing ovation!
