POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Dipped my toes back into orchestra auditions with Beethoven 5 2nd mvmt, Brahms 3 1st mvmt, Tchaikovsky R&J Overture, and a cut from the violin/viola soli in Gershwin’s American in Paris. Thought I’d leave it here as a lil time capsule, and for my fellow string players to have another resource for their own prep. All in all, gotta say it went well. Nerves were present, but not raging. I prepared to a personal 95 and gave a 90 in the room. Got pleasantly surprised by a soft interview after I played and warming up next to the current co-principal of the section in the green room who wanted to chat…always bring your A-game for the staff and green room. by @jyc5331

Sometimes it’s important to be silly on mountains. Jury is out on whether or not I broke my toe on the way down. by @jyc5331

Howdy all, this is my new housemate Luther. He's the handsomest bear/wolf/dog/hambone a person could ask for and he'll be in my stories regularly. There's no way he's getting his own account because his coat makes him unreasonably hard to photo. He's an old-boy rescue from @homeatlastdogrescue. Home at Last and Luther's foster mama couldn't have made this more approachable and thorough. If you're thinking about getting a dog, please check them out or talk to me about it. Luther has had a ruff run, but now you can check in for videos of him lounging and getting spoiled and making up for lost time. In case this was unclear, adopt don't shop!

I read all of my books on my phone so I guess this is transitioning into a food page? It was my birthday so everyone just had to deal with the fact that I like putting blueberries on mushrooms. Clockwise from the top: turnip mushroom fritter on pickled tofu (mirin and white truffle), arugula wrapped in portabello with chili chocolate blueberry sauce, brown butter umeboshi tofu with sage wrapped in celery and drenched in ponzu. All room temp 🙌🙌🙌
2nd photo is beet tartare (sous vide) with green salad (poblano, avocado, cucumber) on rice crackers with cumin agave-caramel and some balsamic.
