Just another euro summer ?

45 days, 6 countries, 1,441,838 steps, 4 festivals, 16 DJ events and 53 records purchased.

This trip was my first ever solo venture. I was so unsure of how this experience would pan out, I was both extremely scared but also extremely excited. Then, in what felt like no time at all, it was time to jet off.

Along the way, I met so many incredible people. Some of them I only knew for a couple hours/days and now, I’d consider them friends for life. I was also so fortunate to see so many friends and family that I’d otherwise not be able to in Australia. But, although I was surrounded by all these loved ones (new and old) at times, I felt lonely. It’s a weird thing to admit but it doesn’t feel right to post about this trip without mentioning it. It wasn’t a ‘sad’ lonely though, I became contempt in this loneliness, I embraced it and even enjoy it. I was able to do so many of my favourite things alone, away from home, surrounded by strangers, in foreign places, and as a result, I was able to meet so many incredible like minded people. I hated the loneliness but it was also my favourite part about this trip.

Now i know this isn’t crazily profound in anyway and i’m not trying to be that guy that “goes-on-their-first-solo-euro-trip-and-finds-themself” but I do really think I’ve learnt a lot about myself and ultimately found comfort in the uncomfortable.

Anyway, #eurosummer2026 by @jycdot

new music !!! yipee 😁😁😁

as a little thank you for 2,000 followers on Soundcloud, I thought I’d release a VIP of my first ever Spotify release ‘Don’t Need To’.

i always wanted to make a piano driven version of this song. in the original, the keys are kinda there to compliment the main synth and don’t get any air time till over half way through the song but i always thought they were catchy enough to be a main element. hense this version i’ve been using to open most of my sets with lately. i originally planned to just keep it in the vault forever and only pull it out to play in live shows but after receiving a bunch of really cool vids of homies playing it out around aus and overseas i thought, fuck it, i’ll let yous have this one.

i hope y’all enjoy, free download for any DJs that want to give it a run xoxo by @jycdot
