POSTS STORIES REELS

I’m very happy and honoured to announce that I’ll be teaching saxophone and improvisation at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, alongside my teaching at the Conservatory of Amsterdam.

I studied at the Royal Conservatoire myself from 1989 to 1996, under the guidance of John Ruocco. John’s teaching had a huge impact on me, both as a musician and as a person, so it feels very special to now follow in his footsteps as a teacher.

The Hague is an amazing city with a rich and fascinating jazz history. I’m very happy to see the local scene blossoming, with more and more places to play and jam, and a new generation of musicians at such an impressive level.

I’m really looking forward to this new chapter and to sharing my experience with the students at the Royal Conservatoire. It feels like a very special full-circle moment. @koninklijkconservatorium @k.c.jazz https://www.koncon.nl/en/teachers/simon-rigter by @k.c.jazz

Taking Dune Sessions to Vlieland for @itgwo. After a five-day writing camp in June, thirteen visionary artists returned to the island to translate months of rehearsing, studio days, and raw improvisation to the stage.

Swipe through for a glimpse of the energy, the artists in motion, and our signature Dune Sessions jam where structure meets pure spontaneous creation—described perfectly as ‘half jam, half performance.’

On the final slides: an article into the project and the movement behind it, as featured in De Volkskrant.

This all came together with efforts of @supersonicjazz, @itgwo, and @paard_denhaag ❤️
