I’ve heard that 2026 is the year we cancel our streaming services and return to physical media. To help you on that path, I’ve got a free guide to collecting physical media on my website. It covers everything you can imagine, from choosing which type of physical media to collect, where to find it and how much you can expect to pay, what equipment you’ll need, and how to troubleshoot any issues. I’m working on turning this page into a downloadable zine, but in the meantime check it out at my link in bio and feel free to message me if you’ve got any questions about how to collect, preserve, or enjoy your physical media!

I’ve just finished a major overhaul of my website and there’s a lot to explore! First up: a virtual scholastic utopian bookshelf. 📚 You’ll also find dedicated pages for some of my book collections starting with Fear Street, The Baby-sitters Club, and Pony Pals. If you’re building your own collection, I’ve made free printable trackers you can download too! I’m adding more series soon, so if there’s something you want to see, leave a comment or tell me in the guestbook! My goal is to make this site not just a shrine to old internet weirdness and 90s nostalgia, but a real resource for collectors and curious minds. Link in bio.

My Fall fragrances and the notes they evoke. On the counter this month is an unholy trinity from @pearfat.parfum with 2030 Park Avenue, Be Very Afraid, and Only a Witch Cat, two for @clueperfumery with Warm Bulb and With the Candlestick, @puppetparfum’s haunting Haunted Baby, @pinewardperfume’s fizzy Lime Cola, @imaginaryauthors and their Little Secret, @parfumcirquedusoleil’s EDP, and my perennial signature @etatlibredorangeus’s She Was an Anomaly. Too on the nose? Who cares, in the immortal words of Tony Soprano, “It’s fuckin’ Autumn!” Browse the counter and check out my sample sniff diary on my website. by @k.d.kemp

Color-matching mats for my office artwork including two commissioned sketches from @timjacobus for my favorite Goosebumps books - One Day at Horrorland (that’s my OG copy!) and Series 2000’s Creature Teacher, and an original pencil drawing by @paulbachem for Pony Pals: Circus Pony. These will be coordinating with original book cover oil paintings from The Baby-sitters Club by @hodgessoileauartist and Pony Pals by @paulbachem (swipe for a preview ➡️). I used to spend hours poring over these illustrations and I can’t wait to spend hours in this room reading, writing, and being inspired by these artists’ incredible talent! Millennial grey? No thanks! In this house we celebrate 90s nostalgia. by @k.d.kemp

Making the office of my dreams with a set of vintage glow in the dark stars for my ceiling. In true Scholastic Utopian spirit, they’re mapped to the constellations in the night sky as they looked the day I was born. Can you spot the Big Dipper? ✨ by @k.d.kemp

It took me three years, but I’ve finally completed my collection of Roswell books! 👽 This was a criminally underrated series in the Y2K supernatural universe. The original Roswell High was written by Melinda Metz who also penned several Ghosts of Fear Street, Goosebumps Presents, Adventures of Mary-Kate and Ashley, and even rival Buffy the Vampire Slayer. by @k.d.kemp

Is it weird that one of my favorite parts of moving is unpacking and rearranging my books? Here’s a selection of some of my non-nostalgic books that have followed me through high school, college, and beyond. They’ve had no less impact on me than my favorites from childhood. Most are marked up and some are even signed by the authors. Over the years I’ve sorted them by genre, by Dewey Decimal number, and even one short-lived attempt to sort by color that library school knocked out of me real fast! To me, a house doesn’t quite feel like a home until it’s filled with books. by @k.d.kemp

Designing my new home myself because how do you explain to an interior designer that you’re picking seating fabric based on how they coordinate with American Girl bookends? Sorry I’ve been quiet lately, I moved to 1998 and the dial up is so slow! by @k.d.kemp

Starting to go through my video from a long weekend diving with shipwrecks and sand tiger sharks off the coast of North Carolina with @blueplanetdc and @olympusdivecenter. I’m obsessed with this clip of a curious shark who decided I wasn’t all that interesting or appetizing! 🦈
